I'm considering a 'hoe myself... I need more room. I test drove an FJ80 this weekend and an old school FJ40, both were maintenance nightmares and high miles. Already did the 4runner thing (86) and didn't like it much. I kind of miss my 85 K5 blazer too. Who knows what I'll end up with, but this time I swear I'm going to leave it stock! Lol.

Oh yeah and you can't put an 8" elocker into an 8.4" housing.

can't help it if you are up in Washington, or we would be talking in person!

Also adam, for father's day we went out with le boat that my dad is now obsessed with. Get it all set up and ready to rock with the new trampoline. Just as we are about to get going the wind picks up and it looks like it's going to be a bomb ass day (wind advisory around 6) not 4 ft from the shore the rubber connector that attaches the rudders to the tiller arm snapped apart and there went our whole day. My dad was so pissed that just as the wind got good this piece broke and we had no steering. Such a waste of an entire day.

that does not look like a wheeling rig, looks like it's made to get groceries and haul the kids to soccer, not go to moab. Adam, i dont think the 4th gen isn't a good idea if you still want to wheel.

front race coil overs with resi and rear race shocks with resi...$2200......fawwwwwwwwk, where is my lotto ticket!

That's a sweet rig for sure but I'd prefer the v6 because it's not full time 4x4.

I think that went pretty well for my first time using an angle grinder. haha. The air intake was in the way quite a bit on the far right welds, which is why they look so bad. I cut out the ABS module mount so I can mount my compressor there.

    but but but... V8! haha:D

I'm not jumping ship on ya Mark! I just like the way trucks look compared to SUV's and such.

And nope I won't be going to that meet. I'll be in Boise then.

Anybody know a good way to cut Kevlar? I tried trauma shears, razor knife, benchmade, and regular scissors. Ruined both pairs of scissors just to get this small piece cut-

I have no idea then. I can't believe trauma shears wouldn't do it. Those things cut pennies in half pretty easily.

So I am trying to decide where to stick the compressor and locker switches and am kind of at a loss. I just found this though, I wonder how hard it will be to do. haha
    100_0071_54700dbc1939674a1579996853b2060458b45c38.jpg

So I was out on the freeway yesterday with the gears, they are nice:D with the cruise set at 75mph it takes a pretty good hill to make the tranny downshift, but when it does 4th runs at almost 4000 rpm. There was a shit ton of wind that day that probably accounts for some of this, but according to my ultraguage I think I lost 3-4 mpg on the freeway, not sure about the city yet. On a side note I am on my first tank of ethanol free gas, I was going to see how much it improved fuel economy and the gears kind of screwed that up. haha. I haven't put the throttle down yet, but it does have more get up and go for sure:D

As far as the install goes, I think the hardest part was pulling the cv's. Although removing the side gear from the old clamshell was a pain, just save yourself the trouble and take the old clamshell apart and push it out from the back, so much easier!

I am working on installing the compressor right now (at work at the moment though). That pump up kit uses larger fittings that the compressor does so I will have to get some adapters or something. I can't think of anything else to mention at the moment.

This message is mostly for Mike since he is thinking about doing a regear, but just some info for the rest of you if you are interested:D
