lol, those ARB bumpers always seemed un-natural on a Tacoma to me. Like an afterthought (ha), not flowing with the natural lines of the truck.

Not sure a snorkel alone would. With a prefilter I would I bet. Bens and Joes trucks still had tons of dust it theirs when we all opened them up at the gas station on our way outa town. Only theirs was like in a concentrated areas where the elbow from the intake or the snorkels hit it.

Fun about thentruckntho. Go look at a pic of my truck a year ago lol crazy

That camper is just a little guy. haha. I pictured one bigger than that when you brought up towing it a while ago. I was looking into those last week and even as heavy as my taco is I can still tow one and be under 8000lbs combined weight.
and who cares about mpg mark. haha You drive a truck not a car. Prior to regearing I was averaging 17-19mpg each tank and I can't hardly break 15 now. I've been getting a few 14's.

I agree with Mike. The ARB bumpers are ugly. After I get my bumper installed I need to decide between a snorkel of the URD TCAI. The stock intake feeds from the fender and because I hacked the front of the underside of the fender up to fit the tires, it wouldn't be too hard for water to be fed right up the fender into the intake.

Well ya in the grand scheme of things the trailer is not that big, but my trucks towing capacity is only 3500, so its up there. And I care quite a bit about mpg as my truck is my dd. And gas is expensive driving thag thing around everywhere.

That's true. I forget the 4 bangers have a smaller towing capacity. 2 mpg isn't too big of a hit though really, especially if that roof rack would be really handy. Plus that loss would likely only be on the freeway anyway. Now if you are buying it mostly for looks then yeah probably not worth it. haha

Oh yeah, so I buried the throttle the other day on pavement and no spinny... Torque converter is just too sluggish off the line. Now if you could stall it until like 2000 rpm haha:burnrubber: The gears are really zippy once you are moving but it is still slow off the line. It has enough torque now to slip the tires when floored on corners though. When I was in Malad a couple weekends ago I buried the throttle as I was going into a slight curve as I was just leaving town so I was only doing about 25 when I buried it and it slipped one of the tires enough to piss on the VCS as I was getting into the curve at about 35.

Since I regeared yes. 4.88's are too low geared for the 33's so I can't coast for shit anymore. I sit at about 2650rpm at 75 now and before it was about 2000rpm, so when I let off the throttle there is more engine braking than before. The lower gears probably wouldn't hurt a manual as much since you can put it into neutral much easier and play the gears better. I don't think my tranny really knows what to do with these gears since it isn't optimized for them.

He does have a V6 and really ridiculously wide tires for starters. He may also have a lead foot. He did manage to be the only one to roll his taco in Moab:rolleyes:

Probably the main reason. I am probably averaging about 17-19 hwy and his tires are an inch wider or so. I am pretty easy on my pedal, Plus he has more armor than me right now.

I don't either. The worse I still have ever gotten was 9mpg on my 31s

I work at the local movie theater, teach crossfit, mow lawns and am a studio and live sound engineer

Yea the wide tires don't help....and a bit of a lead foot but not huge

Wide tire kill mpgs more then talk sadly haha I was getting 14-15 down to Moab and 15-16 back up(no rack on)

I just filled up and actually hit 16.7 mpg:woot: I wonder if my mpg will slowly creep up as the long term fuel trim gets used to the gears. Although they have been in for about 600-700 miles now. I would imagine it would adjust in that amount of time.
