    Why the hell are interco tires so heavy?
    The 265/70 Michelin LTX A/T's I had on weighed 40 lbs each.
    My 255/85 KM2's are 55 lbs each.
    I am looking at some 35x10.50 Interco Super Swamper SSR's and they weigh 76lbs each. They are even D rated tires!
    Their C rated 31X10.50R15's have a couple lbs on my KM2's even.

    How does that work? haha

    Brady, what RPMs are you running at 65 mph?

    I normally get around 15 mpg (according to the scangauge) with all stop and go driving and no freeway. However, when I went to Bend earlier this week I got 20.5 going and 21mpg on the return leg. That is 99% 50-65 mph driving. No stop and go stuff.

    Big heavy tires and added armor require HP to get the truck moving. Starting and stopping kills mpgs.

    OMG, i don't know. Must have order that stuff and put it all on when i was pretty drunk. I don't remember getting wider tires. come to think of it, where did my interior go too? With my 2wd fenders that i don't remember getting i don't think any of my new tires are even in the fender wells.

    I'm no expert, but i think he's doing that wrong.

    Around 2300 IIRC. Gear ration calculator I just used says 2312 so I'd guess that is about right as it is fairly accurate on my 75 mph rpms for 4th and 5th.

    That is the price you pay for a sturdy, off-road tire. Your Michelin's were so light becasue they were primarily built for the street. There is no way they would stand up to the abuse the interco tire will.

    Interesting. At 65 mph mine is ~2100 rpm. That is with my 4.10s and full converter lockup.

    Trying to gauge the impact the 4.88s will have. According to the TW calc, with my current setup the RPMs at 65 mph should be 2800... :notsure:how they come to that number but its not even close to what I get.

    The TW calculator is for a 1:1 ratio in the tranny. I just looked up your tranny, A340F and your 3rd gear is a 1:1 while your 4th is a 0.705:1. My 4th gear is a 1:1 and my 5th is a 0.716:1 so our rpms would be very similar for the same size tires.

    I know that for the michelin's. They are Passenger tires and not even LT's, but what about the KM2's? They are E rated offroad tires and Intercos C rated tires of smaller sizes are heavier. Think a 6 ply interco tire would out do a 10 ply KM2? haha

    I guess I'll have to turn the overdrive off to get a number I can use for comparison on the TW chart. :rolleyes: I certainly don't drive it that way normally.

    Interco's are beef. Which one would you run? I know you :drool: over n0rth's truck but those tires can't very street friendly.

    Or just multiply the rpm the TW chart gives you by 0.705. They do that because all of the taco's have a 1:1 gear but all of the overdrive gears vary.

    I was looking at a 35x10.50R16 SSR or the same one that n0rth has.

    Brant just called me stuck in American falls... To the rescue unless the Suzuki sidekick beats me to it. haha

    Are you certain its not .750 instead of .705? .750 would match exactly what I am seeing. :eek:

    Using that thinking, I would end up about 500 rpm more than I am now with 4.88 + 33s at 65 mph.
