    That was exactly my response to Brady's point that the TW calc is based on a 1:1 final drive ratio. Your 5th gear and my overdrive are less than 1:1. He said mine is .705:1 when I am in overdrive.

    To make an accurate comparison you need to see what your RPMs are at 65 mph when you are in 4th, not 5th.

    Awesome man. Is that the final obstacle?

    Multiplying mine by 0.716 came out about right. As far as I can tell the 1st gen autos are the A340E's and A340F's (same gears not sure the difference) and the manuals are the W56's. According to wikipedia the A340F has a 0.705 4th gear (or .71 for short) and the W56 has a 0.85 5th gear. I have an A750F tranny and it has a 0.716 5th gear (or 0.72 for short).

    (Won't be dead accurate due to tire sizes not being exact in real life, but will be pretty damn close)
    I gained over 600 rpms with my regear, although I came from a 3.727 to a 4.88.

    And the point to the 1:1 ratio I'm pretty sure is that both 1st gen tranny's and all 4 2nd gen tranny's 2nd highest gear is a 1:1 ratio. They should just add an option to pick your tranny though. haha

    From what I can tell Mike, if you go from 32's and 4.10's to 33's and 4.88's you should gain about 300 rpm at 65 mph. ~2000 rpm to ~2300 rpm.


    Brant is free from the beach and the 2nd gen Tundra that was really stuck... Had to combine my weight with the suzuki's winch to get them out. haha

    There aren't any pics of the Tundra but it was actually buried below the axles!:eek: We had so much trouble getting Brant free we didn't think we would ever get the Tundra out. haha It finally came with some coaxing from a shovel though.

    Yeah we were lucky to get Treyl's tundra out. Funny part is is that he stopped when he saw me all the sudden just sink. Walked up to me and went oh damn. Walked back to his truck and it was sunk. That is some soft stuff. But we were only 10 feet from the shore line. Brady pointed out another thing. All the other tracks were ATV's. Lol. Don't think we will be doing that again anytime soon. But I wonder how many truck follow our tracks today and then realize it is a dead end and sink when the stop to put it in reverse and realize they have to back out a 1/4 of a mile.

    I think my front drivers wheel bearing is starting to go. Its squeeling at really low speeds. Can anybody confirm this?

    It could be a small rock caught between the dust shield and the rotor or even just the dust shield bent into the rotor. The dust shield is not very substantial and bends very easily.

    To test the wheel bearing, jack that one wheel off the ground and turn it by hand very slowly. The first signs of a wheel bearing failure is a crunching noise from the bearing. Of course, if you can wiggle the wheel with it in the air, that would be another indicator.

    I figured it has to be either the bearing or a rotor issue. Rocks/mud/dirt in there usually goes away after sometime and i havent been wheeling it in a while. I havent done rotors since ive owned it and i changed the calipers and pads last year so im leaning more towards that. Also it doesnt make noise around corners so thats another sign its the rotors. It doesnt seem to be a concerning issue but ill take a closer look sometime soon.
