Also holy shit balls, just got back from wheeling, just doing some exploring up in the boise mtns, and fuck we got in over our head for exploring. We climbed this hill that looked fine at first, but ian just went a bit too far on his own before we could scope it out and got himself in a very tight, complicated and scary situation. I don't want to type the whole story on my phone, and ill get some pics up later, but it ended with ian letting a random stranger back his 4r down this spot because he was to terrified too.

Taking off the body lift. Yes drivers side. Can you take a picture of yours for me?

Fuck! Im stuck at the shop at work. Trying to get it done tonight. I just need to know what it looks like stock. Cant find any pictures or even anything in the manual

 

Is it just bent or what. I have no real experience with BL's or the steering column much.

 

No i removed what i think is the 3" extender. Its a 3" male/female adapter. So i figured if i removed it the main upper shaft would just slide into the lower female steering rack shaft. But it only goes in 1/2". Im wondering if theres OEM intermediate shaft that goes in between

 

Did you take a look at yours? I wasnt sure if our years were made different. Can you take a quick pic for me?

 

I would imagine the 01*04 are still the same. How far did the extended slide in? Maybe its catching somewhere on something else? Sorry just my best guesses without looking at it.

 

I seriously think im missing a crucial Toyota adapter. Body lift is off on the one side and this is how the steering shaft sits. It slides in 1/2" and i can just push on the side of it and it pops out. FUCK BODY LIFTS!
