No, our frames arent boxed in the bed. I think its boxed up to where it arches up to the gas fill.

2nd gens are hardly boxed at all...

 

I read rear end.. But its a good idea to get it boxed. You dont really want frame flexing. My frame is bent a little. I think i measured 1/2"-1" difference from the ground where the rear bumper bolts on

 

I heard they are worse than 1st gens for that. Early toyota trucks are almost boxed the whole way

I'm pretty confident that 2nd gens take the power category and that extra power didn't hurt fuel economy any either

94 and earlier where boxed all the way back till the bumper mount then the first gens where boxed to the rear axle forward spring hanger and the second gens i don't care to look into.

But as far as frame boxing goes just order CBI's frame plate kit im running it and i hate trail gear those guys suck/ they are the walmart of toyota 4X4

Haha, I am a good BSer. Everytime you mention the thread I stalk it a little, just to see whats going on. One of my best friends in the Corps was from MT and we hav a picture of us holding a MT flag in Afghanistan.

 

I dont quite think the bedsides are plastic, but they probably aren't as thick as yours. The bed itself is some sort of fiberglass material though. And besides I still outweigh you, plus I'm bigger so I might also likely have more air drag. And you still haven't raced my car! Haha. What kind of fuel mileage do you get with that 4 banger anyway?
