Idaho BS thread in the PNW

I have an irrational fear of bears, lol. Not that a tent on top of a truck is any "safer" than on the ground.

It'd probably be better to just buy a canopy and camp in that. I'd definitely get more use out of it.

 

My wife surprised me with mine in Januray... I had wanted one for a year or so prior.
I mentioned one evening "I wish I could just jump in the truck and go and have everything in it for just a one nighter". Thats my primary reason for getting mine. I took my son last Friday for an overnighter and it was perfect. I have a cooler that has my essentials in it. Throw that in the back and Im gone. With one pitstop to get beer, just sayn. Drive for an hour or two, find a spot and boom. Done.

 

If I could secure and lock my storage cooler, i'd do that too... its an old school snap lock style.
Might be time to upgrade to something more secure to store the essentials in.

Heated garage? Damn. You'z fancy around here...

ok, new guy here... what's with the PNW piece? (yes I know what it stands for.)

 

I could be way off, but when I think of PNW, here is what my brain thinks is that...

 

When my husband and I first started dating we camped out of a tent on top of his flatbed truck. It was perfect, grab & go.

Now we've complicated things with toys (SxS & Kayaks) and a 16' trailer. It turns into a several day plan/load to just camp for a few days. Sometimes less is more.

Ben has it figured out, he's got a place to sleep & rock crawler all in one.

 

Make use of the factory electric crawl box!

 

The good time still happens around remote campfires.

I prefer Wikipedia's definition: Definitions based on the historic Oregon Country reach east to the Continental Divide, thus including all of Idaho and parts of western Montana and western Wyoming. Sometimes, the Pacific Northwest is defined as being the Northwestern United States specifically, excluding Canada.

Found a used tonneau. The only parts he doesn't have are the ones circled in blue, are these absolutely necessary or just aesthetic? Not a huge deal, I can get them for $70, just wanted to ask before I order them.

 

We'll probably head out Friday afternoon... so maybe beat some of the traffic.
Stupid question... but are there spots with rock made fire pits?
Are you allowed to pitch a fire down there?
