Well, I like my headlights but I do not like the orange on the corner lamps. My entire truck is black, except the ugly orange on the corner lamps. I really dislike the orange in general.

    Here is an image:

What I do like is the corner lamps on this truck:

I basically want to make the orange on the corner lamps be a bit darker, give it a bit of a shade or something of that sort. I don't want to make the headlights smoked, or to sand them or anything like that. Just want the orange / corner lamps altered. Not sure if I am explaining this right, but surely somebody gets what I am saying. Any cheap / easy ideas here? Could I somehow tape off the rest of the corner lamp (as I just do not like the reflector) around the orange reflector itself, and use some sort of spray to shade the orange down a bit? I don't want to completely ruin the function of the reflector, however.

You could tape off the orange reflector and use vht night shade to tint it...

    That's what I was thinking.
Is it necessary for me to sand it? And if I mess up on this, how hard is it to remove nite shade?

Ya you should sand it before painting so the paint has something to stick to. Not sure how to remove it though. I think There are videos on YouTube on removing the stuff

I got those but the border of the marker lights only come in black or chrome. I have a lunar mist color matched grill and the border of the corner marker lights so I sent them back cause I didn't like the way it looked, it went from lunar mist to a black border.

Very easy to paint them. I color matched the clear corners to my Sunfire Red Pearl.

Many places also sell lunar mist corner lights, but they have the orange lens portion.

Yeah I found that about the marker lights with lunar mist border but I want clear corners. So do you just sand the chrome or black border off & put a coat of primer then a coat of lunar mist?

    Yup.

    1. Put latex gloves on so that the oils from your hands/fingers don't get on the border of the lights.
    2. Sand the chrome down until it's uniformly dull. I use 320 grit, others say they need something more coarse.
    3. Wipe down with a prep wipe (I use the Duplicolor ones they sell at Autozone, OReillys, etc). It evaporates quickly.
    4. I do a few light coats of primer. Let it dry to tacky between coats.
    5. A few light coats of color. Lunar Mist can be found many places, luckily. If not I prefer to go to Sherwin Williams and have them put it in an aerosol can. Again, let it dry to tacky between coats.
    6. A few light coats of automotive clear coat. Sherwin Williams sells the two-part clear coat. It's tough as nails.
    7. Let dry.
    8. Enjoy.

I thought about painting to color-match but then I would want the flares and door handles and I decided to just hit everything with Plasti-Dip and keep the silver/black scheme and eliminate chrome :)
