    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
87 is way to many for the province of BC for all of 2016. Unfortunately a large percentage of them are gang related in the lower mainland area. Gangs and drugs.
For all the families/parents involved it would be a nightmare.

My vote is always Situational Awareness. I tell the lady's at work Do Not go to Walmart or Walgreens After 2200 unless you have a family member that is seriously sick. There is nothing there that you need that badly. It only takes one attempted assault/incident to ruin someone for a very long time. The way I look at it is this, if I'm drawing down on someone it's because every other escape route is blocked and I've already fucked up by not paying attention. But if I'm drawing a bead on someone it's not to intimidate its for me to live. Period.

Something else to keep in mind.......

Once you immobilize a person, you need to be prepared to restrain them as well. In addition to any lethal or non-lethal weapon, I would recommend carrying either a set of handcuffs, heavy duty plastic wire ties, duct tape or something else that you can easily apply to wrap around wrists and possibly ankles.

You don't need them getting up again and you having to defend yourself once more.

Whatever you choose to use, however you decide to use it, just be forewarned that you will be held accountable for your actions even if you were defending yourself. It sucks, but it's the reality of our legal system. If you use a 12 gauge and double-ought buckshot for home defense, you are accountable for every .38 caliber BB in the shell you fire.

I keep seeing a lot of advice like don't go to the bad side of town or out late at night or whatever. All good tips. But the time I had to draw on a large, violent, deranged, drunk/stoned man I was at a crowded intersection in broad daylight on a Sunday in a "good" part of a smaller town. He was unprovoked by me, but he chose my vehicle to attack and was trying to get in on my WIFE'S side of the truck. I was not in a position to smash the gas and get away without creating a traffic accident, potentially hurting others, and not getting away from him by more than a few feet.

Sometimes trouble finds you. My point is, whatever you use, make sure you know how to use it and that it will do the job without getting you in more trouble. If it comes down to that, strike as hard as you can, as quickly as you can, and gtfo of there. Immediately call the police. I will say a knife is not adequate means of self protection unless you have some serious training with it. Brass knuckles are just... no. I'll skip the legalities but why get that close? I'd rather have a mop handle. At the end of the day, anything is a weapon and anything is better than nothing.

ok, I'm off my soap box. Sorry for the rant but self protection is not an option, it's a skill.

If you want the best advice possible, relevant to you and your local laws, just ask a cop.

My friend keeps one of the standard Orange hypodermic needles with him. You'd be surprised how effective that might be (according to reports). People will come at you if you brandish a knife, people will come at you if you point a gun, but no one fucks with a guy holding a needle.

    Three thoughts came to mind:
    1) A psychological attack, interesting idea. I would definitely not want to go against a guy with a crazy face and a needle.
    2) Dexter.
    3) this.

I mean unless you're into that sort of thing, in which case it may turn into a different fight for dominance entirely.:cookiemonster:

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Danger can happen anywhere/anytime. Train like you fight and often. I've left Bar's or parties early because of hinky characters arriving only to find out later that they started shit. I'm always looking for exits in an establishment and try not to go to thru a drive-thru on a weekend when it's close to closing time at the Bars. Might be a little overkill or paranoia but I play the odds that keep me safe.

This also helps to keep them from making a racket in your trunk. Also the duct tape with a sock works well to keep them from yelling.

    This.

Thanks to the wonderful state of California CCW's are next to impossible to get, so a gun isn't an option but I have the next best thing: fixed blade benchmade. Most other weapons take some about of fidgeting to ready, but I just have to take the knife out of it's sheath and it's ready to go.

For home defense I keep a shotgun with 1 birdshot round in the chamber followed by six 00 buck rounds right next to the bed. If I'm pulling the trigger it's because there is no other option, and I'm not loading less than lethal because the guy I'd be aiming at won't be either.

One of these with a slightly more angry face is always good too. She's 70lbs, got crazy strong jaws, and can jump up and lick my face while I'm standing. I'm 6'8".

    Same as everybody else...
I live in Maryland where getting a permit to carry is nearly impossible so I agree with others who suggest that SA and your gut feeling will go along way in avoiding problems. That being said there are a lot of crazies out there so I carry a piece of closet rod within easy reach. Whatever you use practice with it and be prepared to use it.

Try reasoning with your assailant. Maybe their aggression can be minimized by telling them about how you fit your aftermarket wheel and larger tires without a lift, with no rubbing! Or maybe a tale about how the dealer tried to take your truck due to the recall, but you just weren't going to have that!

Most criminals are in a desperate state. Give them stories of your successful life and be an example to them.

    The joke among shooters is
If you shoot me with that, and I find out about it,
    I'm going to be pissed!
Seriously,a good BRIGHT tactical flashlight is a good start
It will blind and disorient a person temporarily
And if you turn out to be wrong or they try to jam you up legally,
What are they going to say? He shined a flashlight at me.
I bet the judge offers him a tissue!

Setting off a can of bear or pepper spray in a car? No thanks! Besides, they can make freaks more violent and angry which would exasperate a situation. How about a dog? Every truck needs a dog! Nobody would bother you with one of these in your truck
