Can someone idenify the different types of grass/weeds I have in my yard? In Picture #2, I am wanting more of the left sided grass to grow, and to get rid of the kind near the retaining wall... Here are some pictures

Thanks for the help... Trugreen came out and gave me an estimate on spraying the yard and said I had too many weeds, and it would be a waste of money...

So I am left to take matters in my own hands and lay out fertilizer myself to control it and maybe eventually the grass will overtake the weeds!

Does anyone have any grass treatment planning for my yard specifically

    I would start here: [GRASS]

You could also see if you could pick the brain of a local golf course or parks or ball field groundskeeper.

We have Zoisa and it's awesome, thick stuff with no weeds. Needs a bit more water, but no weeds.

Go to ACE harware in your area. The are very good at helping out with lawn problems. Good luck. So did Trugreen tell you what kind of grass you have? It looks to me to be Kentucky Blue. Picture two make me think that.

Try some "Weed & Feed". Over time, it'll probably help you grass choke out the weeds.

To get rid of crab grass... go to Lowe's or HD or Walmart and get some crab grass control. It dies each year, and grows from the seeds left from the previous year. You can apply it in the spring (not sure if you need to do it in the fall) and as long as you follow directions, you should get rid of that. For the rest of the weeds, you will need broad leaf killer and grassy weed killer. Once all the weeds have died, over seed with your choice of seed and mow HIGH - the taller the grass, the less likely the weeds can grow.

It will take 6 mos - 1 year to get rid of all the weeds and the grass to grow in nicely.

OR kill it all then plant sod.
