Hey there - new owner of an '07 standard cab. Originally it was a 2.7, but at some point swapped in a V6. Has 5 speed transmission. Are there easy to find codes on the engine/transmission for me to figure out more clearly what I have?

    Good Morning and welcome!

I dont know about any codes but you should most definately post some pics (plus it'll help attract the attention of someone who might know if there are codes).

That's the stock 2.7L and R155F transmission, who told you it was V6 swapped?

I suppose you're right, exhaust manifold only off one side. I bought it off a commercial fleet - seller didn't know much about it but stated engine was replaced, and upgraded to V6, so I've assumed that, though engine isn't a big deal to me for this truck. It was a good enough deal to buy with that uncertainty. Knowing it's stock makes it a bit easier to manage repairs.

The 2.7 doesn't have a ton of power but it's plenty for a reg cab.

Reg cab 4wd manual is a pretty good and not too common configuration, should make you a good truck:thumbsup:

You probably want to address the rust that it looks like is starting on it though, salt will kill the frames on these very quickly if not treated with some oil/lanolin/cosmoline based undecoating.

That's the plan! I have an undercoating gun, plan to hit it before winter.

Any pics of the truck itself?

Replacement tailgate, rear bumper, bench seat, exhaust, and wheels in the works. Already replaced clutch hydraulics and some ABS wiring.

Being a company truck it was well maintained but also kind of beat up
