I'll look closer on the shocks and see if I can see a name. Hopefully these are in decent shape and I can resell them because the Alcan ones (no-lift) are price-y..

You mean the leaf springs? Or just the rear shocks? The leafs seem to be in decent shape. They have postivitive arch, and your truck has stock length shackles, so the leafs were not subject to flattening. I bet you could easily find a buyer on TW. Take measurements from the hub to the bottom edge of the wheel well before you take them off so they next guy will have a decent idea of the actual lift they provide (and this measurement takes tire size out of the mix).

Yeah, new leaf packs aren't cheap. But it is worth buying good ones for these trucks if you want them to last. Think of it this way: If you bought Toyota OEM leafs, they would be even more expensive and be worse than aftermarket...

I meant the white shocks in the back hoping they'd be from the same kit. But I have no idea what I'm talking about. Figured the leafs (leaves?) might not have a name or at least it wouldn't be clear, but I'll take a close look when I get home.

    Thanks again for your help.

I guess my plan is going to be 1. just get new tires on these rims. 2. order new leaf packs and spanner wrench 3. install/lower those myself and go get an alignment

OP, How do you find the ride quality of the existing suspension?

It's kind of hard to say as this is the first old Tacoma like this that I've driven in like 5 years (and first lifted truck ever).. I'd say it's tolerable though.. Some bumps/holes I'm shocked that a lifted truck can feel them that much but overall not too too bad..

sorry to bump this.. Is the overload spring in this diagram? I can't tell what is missing... And does anyone know where I could get a stock or stock-like overload spring? Google is letting me down..

Also I guess it's not just an add-a-leaf since there are only 4 leafs, so i guess they just bought a whole new set with the lift built in?

Also if I get the stock replacement leaf kit from wheelers should I order new shocks for the back? Or they'd be fine? Is it likely those are made for offroading, etc and would be worth replacing?

That's what I was saying, when I said the leaf packs don't look factory. They are pro comp or something else aftermarket.
