    Hi,

Is it possible to clean the Idle Air Control Valve to get them to work properly or is it better just to buy a new one. I see it's a sensor of sorts since there's an electrical connection.

Also, does the Mass Air Flow sensor go bad. I cleaned it and re-mounted it. I'm getting no fault readings on the Mass Air Flow sensor. I do have an Idle control issue according to fault P0505. I'm looking at all the air and fuel control sensors. I just got my new Idle position sensor.

yes it’s possible to clean, most often best to remove and clean it.
Not a sensor, it takes information from other sensors and try’s to maintain target idle speed.
    MAF sensors do go bad.
No such thing as an idle position sensor, might you be referring to a throttle position sensor?

No, to diagnose a problem, it's a voltage check. If it's out of range, manual recommends to replace it.

For P0505, check for vacuum leaks first.

^^ You might try squirting a little QuikStart or some such around the end of the hose that connects to the IAC. Not too much, just a quick little spurt.
I write this because although the rubber hose connection appeared to be sealing, it wasn't. Nor was there any clamp around it. I took a good look at it and didn't see anything wrong with it, but after I put a hose clamp on it my problem went away.
