Just to be clear, Justus seems insane. That being said I think that CA is trampling on civil rights. Nowhere does it say you have to be found guilty or diagnosed with anything, just held for suspicion. Would you all support a 5 yr moratorium on your right to free speech or your right to an attorney in the same circumstances?

My opinion: everyone not in prison or a mental hospital should be permitted to own firearms. If someone is too dangerous to possess a gun then why the fuck are they loose in the first place? and everyone else should be free to possess the best tools to defend themselves if they so choose.

On a serious note, I agree with you completely. Your problem is in assuming anyone that thinks guns are icky is going to somehow change their mind and agree with you. I say when (if?) shit hits the fan and they aren't tooled up, fuck 'em.

 

Don't worry Justus, I agree that its a slippery slope of a law. People are willing to dispose of their rights in the name of public safety. Due process is something very important and the people should never have to petition the government to reinstate lost rights with no due process. This law is very similar to the controversial "No fly list".

No reason for anyone to have ammunition when their emotional/mental state has left them banned from owning or possessing a firearm.

Ammunition isn't a paperweight. It's ammunition, without a gun it is useless.

Not sure what you're going on about or why, but obviously you need to go elsewhere and clear your mind.

Crazy people shouldn't have access to firearms or ammunition for firearms. Period.

 

The law is not based of off a diagnosis. Only the courts should be able to decide to strip someone of their rights, not some pansy ass diagnostic technician

 

And as a CA gun owner I will always vote to strip felons and unstable people of their ability to own a firearm.

The last thing I want or need is some fucking crazy going on a shooting spree and making ME look bad.
