Until I can buy a diesel Hilux I’ll always have a Tacoma in the barn.

I'm just a pavement princess/mall crawler, therefore i am not legally allowed to speak about "Offroading"

But man, those gladiators are deceivingly unattractive

I sold my TJ Rubicon for this Tacoma. I'm not as interested in rock crawling anymore and just want something that is capable and comfortable to camp in. I got super tired of sleeping in a tent with my jeep and am much more comfortable on a queen foam mattress in the bed of the Tacoma. Don't regret the purchase at all. Plus, I sold the Rubicon for more than I paid for it. I am also way more comfortable taking the Tacoma international than I would be the jeep because of reliability and availability of parts.

Love my 21 TRD OR! Only thing that would keep me from getting another one would be if I could get a Hilux.

The JT's looks department problem is it looks doofy as shit in stock form. It needs a 3" lift and 37's before the proportions look "right". The problem is not everyone wants or needs 37's.

Yea. Very capable but very ugly… although the gladiator break over angle is pretty crappy.

I would love those or a Bronco sasquatch package but... I got tired of fixing my truck every weekend so the yota has been doing just that. Hop in and drive =) Can anyone tell me if the Jeeps or Broncos are more reliable now?

Now if Suzuki would bring the darn Jimney over here again!

The Suzuki needs a 5' bed.

I'd like to see Suzuki and Isuzu get into the North American compact truck market.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the f150 lightning that is getting 70 MPGe, can tow more at 7700lbs, and goes 0-60 in 4.3 seconds....

I would indeed buy another tacoma. I've had one gen 2 and now a gen3 for a little over a year.

I do think they are great but recently I have been using the bed less than I thought. While I think every family should have some sort of truck, I'm currently debating on looking at full sized broncos.

I figure if I need to have a bed use, a trailer will work just fine with the bronco. I need to sit in one but I would like more interior space in the 4 door version. Im not in any rush because I love the tacoma, but I am actively looking at broncos. I will not pay any mark-ups just like I didn't pay any for my tacoma which means waiting. So be it.

Also I do use my truck as an off roading machine and for camping out there. The bronco is going to be better out of the factory, I'm looking at the everglades model currently.

In my experience, I went from SUV to the mid-size truck Tacoma Sport I have now.

My first newly purchased SUV was the 1993 Isuzu Rodeo, 5-Speed/3.2L V6.
The second newly purchased SUV was the 2003 Honda Pilot Leather DVD, Auto/3.5L V6.

The Rodeo was short-lived since I couldn't teach my wife to drive stick-shift so we bought a smaller vehicle...again, new...the 1996 Honda Accord LX Sedan.

When we moved to Hickam AFB Hawaii, the Accord became too small for our family of 4. So, we sold the Accord and left the island with the 2003 Pilot.

During that 200K mile ownership before my Oct 2018 accident in Dover, DE, the Pilot had been to Germany & Italy and various other countries our family visited.

When we got stationed at Dover, AFB in 2006 and bought our first and only home, the Pilot was primarily used for family outings.

As time went by, I started to make plenty of trips to Lowe's/Home Depot for those round the house supplies. I was able to fit everything in the cavernous back area of the Pilot. I had sections of wood sticking out the front window for the short trip home. I basically was making use of an SUV and needing a better solution in vehicle capabilities.

After the kids left the nest and married, and the unfortunate accident that sent my Pilot to vehicle heaven, I bought a used 2010 Mazda CX-9, Leather, Auto/3.7L V6 within 3 weeks of my accident.

Again, I was using the CX-9 like I did with the Pilot...shoving whatever bulk items I could inside the somewhat cavernous back area.

I drove that Mazda from Oct 2018 until May 14, 2021...once we were CC debt-free & Refinanced our Mortgage. Everything came together with great interest rates and we were able to do a total Remodel of our Kitchen.

With how the market is now, I'm so glad we were able to complete everything within the first 5 months of 2021.

I know this turned into a long reply but hopefully the point is not forgotten.

I was able to buy the vehicle of my choice because our children were grown up and married. My wife has had her own car purchased new in 2017 and it was just me who hadn't treated himself to a new vehicle.

And that's when I turned to Toyota...at first the Tundra was my thought but my wife persuaded me for a smaller truck. At least she didn't turn me away to another type of vehicle! lol

I really like my Tacoma and would buy another after I wear this one out. I wanted a bare bones SR and am very happy with it.

I wouldn't buy it again - I'd probably go for the electric F150 if I was to stay in a truck. But I'm riding the Tacoma out for as long as I can and then jump to electric; there will be many more choices in the coming years. 8 months into ownership and the trans/engine combo really doesn't make this vehicle shine; its long in the tooth. I knew what I was getting into with this truck and knew there would be a ton of support and aftermarket products and that it should be a relatively hassle free ownership. When I bought I really wanted a Colorado or Ranger Tremor but things were rough finding anything available and the roulette wheel led me to the Taco I have now. If I had had more time to wait out the market I would have but I had no vehicle and renting was getting expensive.
