If Canada is the 2nd largest country why only one regional group?

I have only been on site a short time compared to many. But I find it annoying there is only one "Canadian" region vs individual states regional groups.

If I want to peruse the for sale threads I am not going to buy something from a dude in BC nor Nfld. I bet the guys in either of these ends of the country aren't going to buy anything from me in Ontario. Same goes for group meets or trail rides.

Anyone else feel like asking for provincial region groups?

California has only one group, Canada has the same population as California.

that said, a Canada group meetup would involve a lot of kilometers :anonymous:

There's a lot of us on vancouver island. Always thought it would be cool to get together for a run.

I think it's just the amount of traffic that each region has. There doesn't seem to be enough activity to warrant splitting into regions.

As for for sale ads I just bought something off of a member from Nova Scotia and I'm in bc. Again I don't see the point in splitting it into regions as there isn't a lot of posts anyways of people selling.

If it was more active I could see how it would be beneficial

As for trails and meet up's BC has a pretty active Facebook group so that's what most of us use. Bc Toyota 4wd

Our total population on this forum is like 10 active users, plus it will only complicate things. Instead of seeing every topic in just one tab now I would have to open 13.

Complicate things how? As it is I have to read EVERY post only to find that the local trail ride is in BC. Exit - new thread, oops Edmonton. Try again. After ten minutes I go through every post to find none are local to me. Try to find that part you want. Awesome I actually found what I want but it is in Vancouver and isn't cost effective to ship.

As it is I rarely check the Canada regional page because most of the posts I take the time to open and read aren't relevant to me in the end.

Of course it never helps that Shipping costs up here appear to be relatively outrageous.

Let's say I am looking for a particualt part in Canada. Now I would have to sign up and check all provinces, instead of just seeing it on a one page. Plus everyone puts location at the top of the post whenever they sell. It doesnt take more than 10sec to check, definately not 10 minutes.

If it was in the title I would agree. But not all posters do this resulting in having to open each post and read the first few sentences. So add 10 seconds a post and add that per thread and it adds up. Now if you check the buy and sell daily or more then you already know what to ignore. But I for one don't.

In other forums we used to report sold items and the threads would be archived / deleted. Made checking classifieds much faster.

you could have always started a thread for us from Ontario to post in when we have things to sell, if it becomes active and useful, ask for it to get stickied. Then we know we have a go to thread for that sort of thing. if we are allowed to start a provincial for sale thread that is. I know some people just post their sale in the BS thread of their province.

    Google, dude.

If you're looking to see what's available in Ontario for sale just google tacomaworld Ontario sale. Local BS threads work well too. I like having the 1 regional section. Helps to keep us in touch with our brothers across the country. Unity rather than isolationism :canada:
