Somebody in the 2nd Gen forum is trying to put a 4.7 V8 in his Tacoma. It’ll be interesting to see if it fits.

And besides two chics at one time, I’d try it on a beater truck with a used V8.

    I’d D-4D swap a Tacoma.

I could also buy a 79 series and a hilux and rotate them over here on Carney’s until they are old enough to import or I just bring them over and they are “off road use only”.

You're right, I would buy an Ariel Atom...
but I still want to think I would spend the $$$ shoving a brand new built from the ground up supercharged 2UZ-FE into an old Gen3...

Heres my thought. Why spend a million dollars when you could probably spend a lot less? Copart is a company that auctions cars. Find an acceptable donor with rear end damage that you can buy for 500-4000 harvest the engine, sell the rest of the parts you don't need, and then figure out the computer components, engine mounting, and the rest of the parts like trans etc. If I had to make an un educated guess maybe 20,000 at most? Most of that I'm sure would be labor so if you are a skilled DIY mechanic with tools, welding and cutting equipment, a in garage lift, you could cut that number down significantly. I think the toughest part would be adapting all the computers to accept parts from another vehicle, especially an older one. I'm pretty sure there has already been a diesel swap into this chassis, and I might want that over another engine.

Frankly I wouldn't as I would rather spend money on other stuff like camping gear, bumpers, re gear, or kings etc but hey you would get the motor you want.

If you'd won a lottery, you wouldn't be driving Tacoma. Thread. :p
