Points to you for seeing the movie, points to you for loving the car, points to you for having an understanding that life is complex and it all is tied together somehow, and we do need a ride.

I'd stick with my Taco, but the mods...oh..the mods would be beyoottiifuulll (and plentiful!). Viper's idea of a tank would also be good....but in addition to the Taco, a nice moded-out older Land Cruiser (from waaayyy before they became a luxury vehicle) would be good. Saw one once on a sales lot for like $2000 and still kicking myself for not buying it, but at the time it was not at all practical. Ithink it was a '68 maybe? I can't remember now...time for a google search. An FJ40.

I've always had the "No vehicle over 15K" rule, although I usually have the means to spend more. My Tacoma purchase seems to be the wisest 13K that I've spent.

If money were no object, though, and I threw the above rule out the door, I'd have the Aston Martin DBS that James Bond drove in Casino Royale. That's one sharp ride. For the filming of the movie, they were literally unable to get the car to flip over for the rollover scene and had to place an explosive tank underneath the car to generate the momentum for flipping the car over at the ramp.

Maybe the Aston Martin from Goldfinger as well. Complete with oil slick, smoke screen, machine gun shield, passenger eject seat, tire blades, and general coolness.

    ...if money was no object...

I would have a 2007 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 with a 6 speed manual tranny w/ short shifter, ARB front and rear lockers, dual diesel tanks, and a 3.0L D4D turbo diesel engine weathered for forging 4.5 feet of water.

It would have a Pioneer AVIC series deck/nav system, Pioneer speakers all the way around, console mounted CB Radio with VHF capabilities, an Access LE tonneau cover, armored bumper front and back, satoshi grill mod w/ driving lights in the grill, Firestone Destination A/T tires, OEM DRL Mod, Intake Snorkel w/ high flow intake, dual Magnaflow exhaust, a two inch lift (it isn't for rock crawling), and bilstein 5100 shocks. :D

    Damn money...

If money was no object, I'd keep a relatively stock Tacoma and I'd pick up a fun sports car...maybe an M5.

And more damned cup holders! Mark was complaining once that the Tacoma has too few cup holders...right Mark? ;) :D

Like Baby bottle cup holders in addition to the can, bottle and large cup, cup holders. Plus sports bottle cup holders and Beer mug cup holders. Not to mention ceramic coffee cup holders with a handle cut out. Cup holders for people riding in the bed cup holders. Keg cup holders...

Money no object as in you won the lottery? Yeah, I'd still keep the taco.... Maybe get another one since we need another new car anyway. Or maybe a nice loaded Highlander.:D Either way the truck would be modded to hell with body armor, and expedition stuff so we could go camping a lot... Maybe an adventure trailer too... Those things cost more than the truck... Oh and toys.... hehe... ATV's, go-karts, dirt bikes, sport bikes..... :D Lots of toys.

Ok, I love you. Wait. I am already married. DOHT!

I test drove the A4 based R32. It was fun, fast, and comfortable!!! I can't wait to check out the new one. The GS1200r would be hella fun as well.

    I just wish I could get an R32 4motion with the 6 speed manual tranny and a 2.5L TDI-CR...

    ...damn dreams...

Oh, well, at least you are cool!
