Absolutely not. I have a Frontier, the auto is already a $1450 option.

I bought a 6spd because I wanted it, I would have paid extra for it if I had to. Was pleasantly surprised that it is more fuel efficient and has a better crawl ratio than the automatic version of the same truck.

I'd probably pay up to $2k more for the manual. Above that, it's not worth it.

So what you’re saying is, for $5K less I only get first gear right?

do the AT drivers really keep BOTH hands on the wheel at all times like they should at the proper positions, other than having to reach for the coffee or tune the radio of course

I would have done the opposite. As in the MT being $5k more than the auto. Price of the auto is irrelevant for me. If a particular model doesn't offer an MT, it's not a consideration.

Edit: I have to add however that a dual clutch (PDK, etc) is a third category for me. I would consider a dual clutch but I have no interest in a standard automatic with a torque converter.

Drove a MT for the last 16 years. Rush hour traffic only gets worse as time goes on. AT is a big relief for me these days.

Eww. The Frontier has 1990’s interior. Could be a nice truck but They desperately need some help. This is a 2018

Yes, for the extra features only. I originally wanted a manual, but no push button start and reduced quality on the 16's killed it for me!

This is a silly question. If Toyota overpriced the V6/Auto, I would have bought something else.

I’d pay 5k extra to have a truck without all the nanny systems, one with a normal radio and physical push button presets that I can push in the winter when I have gloves one, a gas pedal that responds the instant I press it, and an actual lever to physically put it in 4x4 instead of a knob. Power windows are nice though. And I’ve gotten used to Bluetooth.

It's fine in person, especially for the price you can get them for. There's supposedly a new one coming late 2020, if it's anything like the Titan it's going to be pretty nice inside.

I'm one of those idiots who shelled out for an Off Road with Pro stickers tacked on, so what do I know about good money sense.

AT. In my opinion there's really nothing that the MT does that the AT can't do. I mean, other than give me a reason to state "I drive a MT" at every chance I get.

Looks like a 90's corporate board room.

nah nothing like that. the relief is not having to constantly keep my foot on that clutch to crawl 5mph and stop n go on the freeway for 15 miles 2x a day. Thats just me though, others might not mind it.

Manual transmissions are cheaper here too by a good chunk. All things considered I would likely pay that 5k premium because I wouldn't want to learn standard in a brand new vehicle and fry the clutch and/or transmission. I've never had anyone to teach me to drive stick.
Edit: Considering how things are going automatic is likely better for my knees anyhow.
