My Manual Transmission TRD Pro was about 5k cheaper than the automatic "Voodoo" blue equivalent on the lot before even haggling. I specifically was shopping for a manual transmission.

There is one more model, although it isn't a direct comparison, the TRD Sport double cab

I spend wayyyyyy too much time in traffic for a stick. I'd be fine with one otherwise.

The Tacoma is not the last option for a MT Truck, the Gladiator and Frontier also have it.

I'd buy a different vehicle if that was the case. I've had several manuals over the years and, while they are fun, I'm passed the point of driving a stick in rush hour traffic where I live.

Probably should have worded that better but I meant more in the sense that Tacoma has been selling MT trucks because it was the only really competitive truck that offered one. The Gladiator is only 8 months old and is obviously now a choice but it's only impacted the partial 2019 and 2020 numbers, not the several years prior where nobody but Toyota and Nissan offered one (aside from the basic 4cyl Colorado).

And while the Frontier technically offers a MT, aside from a basic bitch 4 cylinder, I was literally unable to find one on the east coast when I was truck shopping even after calling dealerships in like 6 states to have them look. You can't even select manual transmission when you use their inventory search online.

Yeah, I just traded my 16 manual Crosstrek for the auto Taco. I've never been so glad to be lazy AF...lol. You younger guys with enough ass to ride a clutch pedal rock on, I'm out...lmao

The thread is primarily about price differences.
Manual is just more fun to drive. Feel more engaged. It's more work, but more rewarding.

Plus I don't text and drive. Florida drivers is dangerous enough. :bananadead:

I like driving stick, and I am happy with the auto in my 18’ but I also wanted a longbed and the price point was the same, DCSB Sport MT vs DCLB Sport AT. If there were a 5k price difference I could live with the short bed, or more than likely go Access cab MT.

This probably the last MT truck ever. Along with the gladiator.

I don’t think I am going to ever sell this truck. If it ever gets to the point, that it needs major engine repair. I’ll just get a new engine.

if the 4th gen gets a manual. I might reconsider. Being that they killed the 4Runner manual, I think the Tacoma is next.

I like automatics better in general, but $5k is a lot of cash.

'97 GMC Safari. Had that GM 4160 Electronically controlled nightmare do a Smoke-show going up the Ambassador Bridge towing 1600 lbs of bike and Trailer. To rebuild that puppy (2004) was $3200.00 Canadian. I also had the infamous intake gasket coolant leak on that 4.3 at least once.

In the end, the bottom literally dropped out of that van before it reached 10 years old. I was too busy keeping up with mechanical issues, that i neglected the unseen part... only to be revealed in it's last lift into the air on a hoist.

My first AT, and my last by choice - and GM's never again, pretty much concurrently.
