Not sure I'd have another truck. I fell in love with the taco but prior to that I was looking at imprezas

Maybe a Ranger, I was working with a dealership on a brand new Ranger and a lightly used Tacoma. They wanted to negotiate and incentivize the Ranger but wouldn't budge on the Taco. The Ranger was nicer in most ways but I wanted the aftermarket and the better off-roading capability but the Ranger was kinda cool.

Ford Raptor modded with V8 crate motor and a Whipple blower or Ram TRX. Most likely the raptor.

Jeep Gladiator. Or more realistically a tundra. The Taco is the only compact truck I really like. I haven’t spent anytime looking into the gladiator but it seems like the most viable non full-size truck option to me. Maybe the new Frontier?

If I could live without the truck bed, probably a 4Runner. If I couldn’t make do without the bed, probably a Tundra.

One of the last Toyota Land Cruisers. Or the Lexus equivalent. I keep telling myself that if I had the Land Cruiser and needed to do some dirty work, I could just hook up a little trailer to it, haul what ever and then unhook and still have the Land Cruiser. That was the plan until the wife said no and so we have a BMW X1 as a daily driver and the Tacoma, which I really like.

    But that Land Cruiser ...

If we have to keep things in the midsize pickup class, I’d go with a diesel ZR2 or EcoDiesel Gladiator.

There was someone in Chico, CA that had one of those things. I saw it parked more than it was driving. I guess between the weight fee, MPG, and that glorious International build quality it may have been too much for the owner. It might have been a promotional deal for his gas station because it was always parked on Nord if I recall covered in dust
