My father-in-law bought a 2010 Dodge Ram last summer for a very decent price. V8 with VVT has much more power than the Taco and gets much better gas mileage to boot (was getting 22-24 hwy on the drive from Calli to VA in July). The thing is a beast and he's only got the access cab so I'd probably feel like I was driving a semi with the crew cab but that would be my choice if something happened to the Taco. Gas mileage, tow capacity, and a better drive-train warranty (2010 was the last year of the life-time warranty but now it's 5 yr 100,000 miles).

I wouldn't buy another truck. I don't like any of the other trucks and I don't have any need for a full size. I'd get a black 2011 Subaru STI Hatchback.

If I needed another truck I would probably go with a GMC, if an SUV would work then I would probably get either an V8 4Runner or Sequoia

Probably an Xterra which was my second choice to the Tacoma. If not probably a full size. Either a Silverado or Titan likely.
