If you were ready to trade for an 18 and wanted to stay small truck and choices was zr2 crew loaded with bose and nav or trd off road dbl cb loaded with tech/and jbl? Cost of both trucks trade is same $$.

Probably be best to take extended test drives in each one before spending such a large amount of money

Personally I'd still get the Taco because I can't stand the way the Colorado/Canyons look.

Cost of both is the same $$$...

I would never take a Chevy over a Toyota unless it was substantially less, wait never mind I still wouldn't.

I trade every 2 model years about 60k miles. My diesel Colorado will have about 52k come October when I would get the 18. I tested both and can say zr2 handled better but I like the looks of the Tacoma much more. Like the led running lights and Led Tail lights and just looks including interior. I have been Toyota and this is first chevy I have had since I had a 07 Silverado and said I wouldn't get another Chevy. Mine has rattles anytime not smooth streets but not horrible just vibration rattles. Anyway figured many of you have had the new tacomas and seems most like them even with their issues I read about.

    Taco. No question.

I just don't like the GM twins looks, feel, or resale values. The Zr would have to cost no more than 70% of the equally equiped Taco to even tempt me.

Before I traded my 04 for the 17, I asked the wife if she thought we should take a look at either the Chevy or GM and she said "Why? You wouldn't actually consider getting on of those things, would you?" FYI.. she tollerated my 04, but she loves the 17. Either way she knows Toyota can do all we need and want to do. She trusts Toyota and after my owning a GMC Sonomo that was towed due to breakdown 6 times in 1 year, had multiple bypasses to the CPU installed in order to run, and still rand like crap; prior to me buying the 04 Taco, she has some serious trust issues with the twins.

Not a fan of the Chevy interior. I love the LED DRL's on my Taco. My wife loves the Tacoma, so that's a win in my book.

    Tacoma all the way.

Haven't been impressed with anything offered from ANY American auto manufacturers in years,

Well at least when it comes to what I can afford.

    I've always wanted a Z06! :burnrubber:

I can't stand the look of the Chevy comparably but that being said the diesel they've got has so far been a beast of a engine.

ZR2 costs more, has an interior from 2005 and has fake rock sliders. Most people will never use the front locker either. If you REALLY want diesel go for it, otherwise, subjectively the tacoma is a much better buy.

The Tacoma is a better looking truck. And besides Smitty's truck they are better built.

    My 2c.

Depends on what your plans are.

Stock vs. Stock, my vote goes with the ZR2. More capable from the factory with it's front and rear lockers, proper off road tires.

If you plan on doing modifications, then I would go with the Tacoma. Tacomas are some of the most modded trucks around, so there are lots of options regardless of the type of build you want to do.

Interior of 2005? Why you feel the need to blatantly lie? It's from 1999.

When I test drove the Colorado just two hours prior to the Tacoma, it was the first thing my wife and I noticed. The dated interior from the 90s.

Those pathetic, paid for acting Chevy commercials almost had me convinced.

Since you trade every 2 years, it really doesn't matter that much- just flip a coin

This is one of my issues with mine. Not fan of interior and really not fan of exterior compared to Tacoma. Ive made my mind up and going with 18 trd off road. now to wait to see if they offer cement in trd off road for 18

Tacoma no doubt. I sat in the Colorado ZR2 and couldn't I stand the interior. The seat cushion bolstering wasn't that great and the overall interior felt cheap and looked cheap. Might not matter to some but for me the interior is where you spend all your time. Resale is another thing that would have me running away from the twins.
