If you could do it over again MT or AT?

When I say radar, I mean...3 years. haha! But hopefully they're still around.

 

In that car, it really isn't a downside, IMHO.

The best part there is that the used prices will continue to plummet just like most other luxury brands. That's a win in my book.

 

After thirty years of driving a stick, I went for an auto. Only because my knees are going south on me. If the knees were still in good shape, I'd still be driving a stick.

 

Just looked on carguru and they're 20-30K cheaper for 2016's. Wow.

 

It's amazing. Just start a bit early looking for the colors and options that you want.

 

Best part, all sub 10k miles. Wow! So when I'm looking the new 18's will be around that price and sub 10K miles. I'm okay with that.

 

Doubt they will still make a manual when it's time to replace my truck. Ain't that a shame

 

that's cause bmws smg gearbox sucks cock so bad people would rather learn m/t than be forced to use bmws dreaded excuse for a sequential system

 

If they do decide to phase it out of the Tacoma then I will probably buy the last year they offer it.

I would sure hope they announce it ahead of time and not just all of a sudden say sorry we dont make them any longer.

 

They'll probably introduce the new 20(whatever year it may be) and say these are all the new tacomas with 8 speed dual clutch autos! Then it'll be too late.

 

you're probably right. announcing no more MT's won't make anyone happy except yota's bean counters. not even the EPA would care.

That's one thing I do really like about my 16 mt ac sport. Has pretty much everything I'd have wanted(wtf bed light) without anything I really dont want(tss). Enough tech without silly stuff I dont need. Really think it's a neat combo of old and new. The drivetrain has a bit more foolishness than I'd like but it's a truck. Though I'd certainly do without funky slipper clutch accumulator thingy and rubber band acceleration

Exactly! Check out the recent thread (the 11k clutch failure). We have a more solid lead on a delete. I have my 10k service on Tuesday. I will try to pick up that elbow then.

true in a way. the other side for me is that I've been seeing this coming, and I'm planning to build up my own MT no-nanny vehicles after that like i did when i was younger, but this time I'll be paying someone else to do the work. for daily driving my wife can drive her AT Volvo and I'll be in some kind of tractor or something. that's DD for me. this Tacoma is pure luxury for my ass. it'll be like a tractor before long.

 

That was what I planned on too, but if they decide to cancel I want the chance to buy one last new one and hang onto it.
