I needed a new truck unexpectedly.

The local Toyota dealership had one Tacoma on the lot and I bought it.

All things considered, I wouldn’t change anything about the truck, including the year- for all the talk about “first model year hiccups”, this truck has been flawless and has everything I need.

A few days/ weeks away from the forum from time to time helps. I have learned things, had some laughs and wasted lots of valuable time here, lol.

I wouldn't have got married the first time and would have got a full bumper instead of a center mount..

Ha. I HAMMERED my dad on this as he was digging into retirement/investment strategy...he passed in favor of more conservative investments. I wonder if he even remembers.

I have no regrets as far as mods or anything. If I had to buy the truck again, I would MAYBE go for an access cab and I would probably pick Army Green over black.

I don’t want either of those nearly bad enough to get rid of my current truck, though. It’s been very good to me!

Instead of buying black overlays I should have debadged the truck from the start.

I bought my 2017 Sport used, my only regret is buying a Sport. Sometimes that hood is hard to see over on E TN hilly roads. (I’m just 5’4). Thought about doing a hood trade, but then thought about what would that do to trade in value?
And by the way, I have the JBL system and think it sounds fine.

Doubt it would do anything to trade in value. In fact, i doubt it'd even be caught.

I would have bought from a manufacturer, who includes a transmission cooler on vehicles equipped with a tow package.
    Shame on you Toyota

My 2017 has a transmission cooler. Did they stop equipping the tacoma with it?

Yup, starting about April 2020, Toyota decided to do away with the trans cooler without telling anyone. SURPRISE...

2019 Access cab Sport in Calvary blue bought end of October so very few were left in my area. I probably would look for Limited editions instead of the sport and in 1988 I should of invested in Microsoft... (like advisor suggested)...

    Seems personal but here goes.....
I woulda spent the twenty bucks I thought I didn't have that night I went out with Trudy Bishop. If I woulda just spent the 20 bucks to fill up the tank I wouldn't a run out of gas and had all that idle time with her in the middle of nowhere. Think about that dumb decision every month on the 15th. It's worked out ok, I guess. Shadow ( she named him, not me) is 12 now so next summer I can get my yard mowed every other weekend. Thanks for posting this question. It's been therapeutic to talk about it.

I wished I didn’t get cut off by a very challenged driver which totaled my car that ended up with me buying a Tacoma that got me where I’m at today.027878A2-5C5B-4ECA-B77C-078265925A74.jpg

Sorry, just seeing you replied to this question already. Are long distances at highway speeds unpleasant because of the high RPMs, low MPG, or both?

I'm on 33s(255/80R17 KM2's) and I feel that the truck is over geared with 5.29s. Highway travel is unpleasant and I feel like 35s are almost a necessity with 5.29s. I feel that 4.88s are the better option if you plan to stick to 33s
