Of course the bike I have. The 2012 Yamaha FZ1. 1000cc power , comfortable, sporty handles well and eats up the miles. Very reliable after fixing the stator rotor to the sealed magnets.
From track days to back road ripping to long hyw miles it does them all pretty well.

    My vote goes for KLR650.
You can't kill them. You can go off road. You can cruise on road. Not the best at anything specific, but the best at doing just about anything well enough.

Call me biased, but at the moment it would be my Africa Twin. Will cruise all day long at highway speeds in comfort, will do any of the off-road stuff I care to do, will haul all my camping gear with ease and can still provide plenty of smiles in the twisties… Hard to beat that.

All true! If it were a shaft drive it would be in my driveway. Alas, it's chain, so I went the Super Tenere route. Same idea as the AT though. Does it all well enough, and eats the miles happily, so it's my one and only.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I've resigned myself to riding pavement, I'd hurt myself on the dirt. I hurt myself a lot in the past and don't care to anymore. That said, I have the bike I want, a Yamaha MT-09. It's a lot of fun to ride, and I find it very comfortable. My knees don't care for more than 350 miles a day, but so far, I can still do multiple days. I have hard bags and a large top case mounted up and can carry several days worth of stuff with me. The sound of that triple goes to the soul!

    I also have a '92 Suzuki 400 Bandit. It's a butt-load of fun, but it's scope is pretty limited.
