Navistar makes a pretty good engine. They don't burn up like the GMs do.

It was, however, scary how close Ford came to losing them as a supplier last year. Navistar even stopped delivering engines at one point. The tiff they had over pricing is likely the reason the diesel F-150 that had been announced is a no show.

If I couldn't have a Tacoma I'd be driving a Frontier. I don't need a full size truck, don't want to park a full size truck, and don't want to put gas in a full size truck.

I would kick babies for a new powerstroke f350! Could really use the power, size and utility of a fullsize diesel. I guess the fact that I can't afford a $46k truck is the reason I bought the Tacoma.

    None yet! It's new!
If I couldn't get a Tacoma, I'd get an original '66 Shelby Cobra. Simple.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    Maybe a LX470.

If it has to be a pickup, I'd go Nissan Frontier. Similar enough.

Same here. But only the Two door. The four door ones look strange IMO.

As much as I keep trying to justify it, I don't think modern 1/2 ton mpg is significantly different from our trucks to make it major purchasing factor (the parking is a legitimate concern). The 19mpg I get babying my truck on mostly highway stretches would (from what I can gather) most likely yield about 17mpg in most modern 1/2 tons. Then again, the Tacoma has other advantages (parking being one) over fullsizes beyond just mpg.

If I were to get another truck...new would most likely be a Ford 250 Powerstroke 4x4...regular cab, campers special suspension, 6 speed. Otherwise I would have my eyes out for an 85 regular cab 4x4 Toyota.

Car wise, I want an 03-04 Cobra. Actually going to buy one sometime in the near future.
