lol this post and your title are two totally different things. So you want to cut it off AFTER the muffler. Lost of people do this and it wont hurt anything.

Why not go NASCAR with a side outlet mid body exit. Looks cool, sounds great and it won't trap exhaust gas under the vehicle to leak up through the floor at stoplights?

That description makes much more sense than your original post. You will have no problems with this setup as long as you put on a down spout. Many forum members including myself (on my last Tacoma) have done this.

I've gotten too old for the loud exhaust phase and plan to leave my current truck's exhaust perfectly stock.

Just grease up your muffler bearings with some moly grease. This really helps with the smog problems.

For a minute there I thought he meant to make the muffler non functional but cutting it somewhere between the muffler and the cat. The first thing that came to my mind was noise and back pressure.

I'm actually pretty sure he did, up until we all posted about how ILLEGAL it was and how it will just be a mess to fix and WON'T pass smog...

Laws are there to be broken!!! And if you cut it before the muffler get ready for the giants bee nest sound.

I in no way endorse the breaking of laws.
