So which set of your criteria is most important to you? Pick that one. Easy peasy.

What we think or experience doesn't matter, as we may not have the same criteria as you.

Went from 2010 Tacoma to 2013 Tundra as I needed more from towing. I'm now looking to get back into a Tacoma since I don't need to tow/haul nearly as much anymore. I never liked how big the Tundra was (had CrewCab). The power was nice but even when towing rarely used. MPG on either is moot as they're both horrible compared to other competitors.

So for me and my needs Tacoma wins. And man the price of Tacomas has gotten ridiculous since 2010.. :( (paid $28k and change for a manual DC TRD Sport then)..

We have one of each, both are amazing in their own right.

Love the RCSB Tundra, roomy, fun to drive, tows our trailer wonderfully, bench seat! vinyl floor, manual windows and door!....but fuel millage, fugetaboutit.

The 6MT on the Taco amazing, small, fits in the garage, still a pleasure to drive has all the bells and whistles the Tundra lacks.

For me, Tacoma. I think the Tundra is great, just way too big for my use. I like driving off-road and on trails, so the midsize of the Tacoma works perfect for me.

I traded a 15' Crewmax for my '16 Tacoma for the sole reason to fit in my new garage. Miss the power and smoothness of the V8, but the Tacoma is more practical for my needs and I think it looks better!

Well, KBB got 20 mpg's in their raptor test so it's not terrible. That's with crazy power, 14" of wheel travel and KO2's it's an impressive truck. Also barebones raptor is 52k crew cab, but I'd want the 62k package because front locker I don't need. lol

that's about 25k+ more than my tacoma, So I guess I'll deal with half the power, half the suspension travel, and same MPG's.

Sorry, my friend a Ford mechanic of almost 30 years wouldn't let me buy an Ecoboost. They have cronic problems, turbos blowing oil seals, turbos seizing, waste gates seizing which blows the head gasket, and now timing chain wearing out at 30k miles. I will add that the same motor is in the Explorer and there have been no problems, truck owners are asking to much from this little V6.

I moved down in size to Tacoma from a 1 ton, SRW CTD Ram (with 6 speed MT). I miss the MT, but I don't miss not being able to park it anywhere.

I bought a new 2004 Tundra DC 4.7 liter. I prefer the size of my 2017 Tacoma AC and the bed isn't that much smaller (same length). If you have an older Tundra look under the bed liner! You may not like what you see!

Tacoma for me. I just don't need a full size truck at the moment. I traded a F150.

Tacoma. Like to have the same truck again TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB wMT but with the P/T package so I could have the sunroof and power slider. We have been considering a camper and if we do that I will probably look at the Tundra.

That's funny, the first thing I notice when getting in a Tundra is how cheap the door handle and door feels, combined with the notoriously weak frame it doesn't give a feel of being well built when the first thing you touch and the supposed strongest part and backbone of the truck are like that...

As far as MPG, the ecoboost ive heard isn't hitting anywhere near their mpg targets unless on flat land at 50 mph but my few buddies that have a tundra can't hit 20 to save their lives on the highway at a descent speed. My silverado had a 25 mpg best 50 average on my last trip doing around 70 mph (it was just under 21 mpg at 85 mph) and that is with a 5.3, 3.42 rear, 4wd and trimmed air dam. Tundra is by far the worse mpg truck out there in all reviews and tests. It is simpler and a decade old so I would give it an edge in reliability over some of the more complicated motors.

I will say this we have a full size and mid size. I was hell bent on mid size but found too good a deal to pass up on a full size. I appreciate the added room in side and in the bed. We have a long bed CC and the bed is a few inches longer (that is what I would get) but the size really isn't that much different. It drives smaller but isn't a massive difference where I would stuff it in to front row spots on the regular. I don't go down trails that are tight enough to make a difference so probably full size for me unless there is enough difference. Carrying passengers they really like the added room of the fullsize in back, though on our Canyon there is enough room back there. In the end the size isn't enough of a difference to change my driving habits at all so it will be more full size most of the time unless a good enough deal is made.

I went on a Snoball 500 rally in one of the new 17 Raptor ecoboosts and it averaged about 11-12 on the expressway (we were rolling at about 85-90). Interior was much nicer than the Tundra and the pano roof was titties. Only downside was the Raptors have true dual exhaust and kinda sound like a piped out clit-taurus. Tundra mixed driving the best I can get is about 13 with a 4.30 rear. Expressway is around 15-16ish but then again the 35's throw the estimated gas mileage off.

If I had a choice between a new Taco and a Tundra I'd probably go Tundra based on the little difference in price between the pro models. It's kinda hard to beat the power and potential of adding a blower to the Tundra also.
