I guess some of the additive packages are hard to come by supply chain wise. I haven't seen rotella in stores since last summer, I bought the only gallon I saw since which was in a ski town. Locally I haven't seen any diesel oil on the shelves

Of course on the diesel FB groups dudes are panic buying and posting pics of their 20 gallon hauls which doesn't help lol

Weight reduction for one, the synthetic oil has less dinosaur particulates in it to slow down the rotating assembly of the engine

Well he gained most of his experience first hand through experiments with axle seals, hence the drinking.

man, I sure used to but not much these days. I had to choose between synthetic oil and the beer and only one gets me to work

I lost 50~ lb in the past year in part by changing my drinking habits so my oil change interval has also increased since the engine doesn't have to work as hard

Anyone figure out a way to prime a 4.0L filter? Or was that like 10 pages back?

All the cool kids relocate the oil filter anyways, the extra volume of the hose increases oil capacity and provides passive cooling

Have you considered moving the filter to the glove box? It would be much easier to change there

Can’t we just do a full bypass? Change oil ever 3247 miles should be good right?

And you better not have given up on Proper 12.

I’m thinking of boxing my entire frame and just using it as an external oil sump. Maybe I can actually keep the rust down that way
