    You dirty dog!! Lol.

But yes you said it! They dont filter well, of course they wouldn't due to the filter medium and the high flow performance they offer! High flow equals high dirt flow too, it goes hand in hand... It was all about oil on my end, nothing more. Its just i had kinda finally felt like saying something about it after all these years of reading about people saying the oil ruins the maf and ect...

Anyone who's anyone KNOWS K&Ns are the best...:crapstorm:

...at letting in more air... as the above link proves.

As others said, letting in more dirt particles comes with the territory with higher flow.

I've been running K&N's since I got my learner's permit in 1996. I've had my current Taco for a decade+ (it came with the lame K&N "cold air" intake). Although I'd prefer a conventional drop-in just because of the noise, the cost/benefit for me to source a new (or used) stock air box etc... isn't there - so I'm stuck with it for now until I put a snorkel on it. However, I do like the fact that in my 20+ years of driving, I've bought exactly 3 air filters.

The proof for me that the K&N's filter "good enough" is the one on my dirtbike, granted it's a single cylinder 4 stroke with a carb, but there has never been ANY dirt/dust on the engine side of the air filter. The one on my truck has never had any perceptible dust/debris on the inside of the intake either.

We all just stick with what we know. Some guys like paper, some like oil types. Neither one is universally "better" as it depends on what your preferences are. I just find it funny that some people lay it all out there and accuse people of ruining their engines for running the opposite of what they use, when that's simply not true (unless of course you're not oiling your filter!).
