    I've looked at the abs/locker mod and can't quite figure it out. I've got a 04 tacoma trd off road extended cab 3.4L. I did the "gray wire mod" so I can engage the locker any time I need it, the ABS ain't so simple. I'll keep looking

    Oh. Didn't realize you had an 04. Might be something similar. Does the ABS light come on when you engage the locker? You could always turn the locker on for now to turn off the ABS. Thats what I did when things got bad before I had the ABS kill switch enabled. Other people have pulled a fuse or relays for the ABS system for the winter. Of course, the wrong one turns off the power assist to the brakes too so be careful if you do that. :D

    Yes, the fuse is one way, but I want the ease of a switch....just lazy. Winter isn't a problem, sand is. I cruse the Mojave.

    It has a 4-link system in the back, extra fuel tank it´s 35 gallons and a fulepump so you can fill the orgina tank while driving, it has a 4:88 and a front air lock, it has ranco 9000 shocs in the back and 3" light racing struts in the front, Artick trucks tires 38"x15,5" we had to change the brake system and use brake pumps from landcruser 80 and the brakedisk is built by artick trucks in Iceland ,we did this so we could use 15"x14" wheels for better flote on the snow when you let the air out, It has a lift kit about 2" only on the boddy and then the flairs and running bords,2x air pumps one for the tires and one fore the locker, KN filter, fluricent lights under the car and some lights in the front. inside is the GPS, VHF, CB, and NMT phone and I can´t remember anything else

    So you probably have the locker on anyway, right? Could you save yourself some time by just using that whenever you wanted the ABS off for some time? After using mine a bit, it engages about as fast as flipping the ABS kill switch....

    No I don't normally drive with the locker on, just wanted it to be available ANYTIME I need it, thus the "gray wire mod". The truck "drives like a truck" with the locker engaged, turns poorly, but has all the traction I need to get out of a wash or sand dune. I have problems while driving the dirt road @ around 15-20 miles per hour and trying to stop or at least slow down to avoid a rut or woop-t-doo some bikers made. Stomping on the brake should lock them, not vibarate my foot, make fart noises, and scare ME! I want the ABS OFF when I'm in the dirt. All I wish to do is flip a switch.

    Even though the trax look great & probably have the best offroad capabilities. I bet it is badass in the snow & ice! :D

    A few things come to mind. The vehicle with them would have to exclusively be used for offroad/snow. I just don't see someone constantly switching between wheels & trax. I can't imagine what kind of damage it would do to the trax if you used it on pavement. Also that means you would have to trailer it to the offroad area.

    I guess this is for the guy that has more money than he knows what to do with.

    Well, think of all the people that tow ATVs, sleds, rock crawlers, mud trucks, etc to their destination. How would this be any different? No, you wouldn't take it on the highway. If your buddy with the mud bog lives 2 miles down the road are you gonna swap them? Probably not. Or if you live up in Alaska or somewhere like that where there's always snow, ice and permafrost you wouldn't really need to take them off.

    At the cost I don't see you're average Joe buying them and swapping on and off every weekend, but even if he did so what? If I was changing my tires twice a day on the weekends I'd be pretty damn quick with it! :D Have all the tools and process down with lots of practice.
