How are the cop & robber shows going to do a 180 sliding turn without a mechanical brake?

Manual. I have to hook up my wifes car to my laptop to retract and reset the e-brake before I change the rear pads. I'm used to it now, since I have to hook the laptop up to do almost any maintenance or repair, but it's still a pain. It's nice to know it's just a cable I have to undo.

I think they got it right with the lever brake. You can use it as an emergency brake again because you can feather it. I never understood the foot brake. Recall brakes fail, so a second system is good. The clicker foot brake was useless to know how hard it was depressed and it locked. A button electric brake is a bit fluffy for a guys truck.

I love the "old school" style parking brake the way it is.

I love the handle in my truck. I also drive a suv occasionally with the electric parking brake and it is handy for what it is. I guess it may come down to the "personality" of the vehicle I'm in.

    Handbrake for drifting, duh.

The e systems also weigh less and may be cheaper, though I think the earliest e-parking brakes might have been a novelty feature in high-end cars.

Love the middle lever park brake. Use it all the time. Way better than the knee one in my 03

Gotta be the hand brake level, the buttons are terrible.

Electric parking brakes exist because of human error with smart keys. They leave the vehicles and without the force of park to remove the key, the vehicle can roll away. This killed a Star Trek Celebrity a few years back.

Modern smart key vehicles actually will engage the brake the second you open the door. This is again because of human error, not because they want to annoy the consumer.

I guess I never really had a preference, I just wish they would standardize it. Fucking hate getting into a car, putting in reverse, then looking in every spot I can think of where a parking brake might be when it doesnt move.
