Tundra or a F series. It would depend on the side by side comparison.

I work with a guy that has one of these. Helluva truck, but I'd choke on the payments. $50,000+ MSRP:eek: And it's still a dodge.

The wife and I bought a 2012 Dodge 2500 Diesel. We love it so far. Granted its no Toyota but for $35,000 we got a fairly good deal and have around 19,500. Great towing truck. Just adding the B&W goose neck hitch this next weekend myself. But haters will hate on the dodge and I could totally understand, I was leery myself but only time will tell. Truck handles better than my dad's F250 2006 and way quieter too. Here is a pic of it so far.
Also we test drove all makes as well. New 2012 F250, And 2012 Dually Duramax. The Ford was rough riding on the Highway. The Duramax was really comfortable but has the smallest back seat. My step son is only 15 and is 6'2 and 295 lbs so the back seat was a deciding factor in how much room he needs. The Dodge has the Largest since 2012, because they made the crewcab the same room in front of the seat as their mega cab it just dont have the space behind the seat.

    I don't think I'd buy another Dodge....

What do you need it for? And I mean....what are you towing and how often?

Although, normally I probably wouldn't go near a Dodge - but, considering I got a smoking deal on a new one from a friend who worked at the dealership. It was a new (2004) Dodge Ram 1500.

The new Tundras hadn't come out yet. We were torn between 2500 and the 1500. Our towing involved 6500lbs about twice a month. We found out that the only difference between the 2500 and 1500 was bigger diffs - but same transmission. If the 2500 would've had a better/bigger transmission, we probably would've got the 2500. We didn't want a 'diesel' because it was overkill for what we needed (and not being familiar with the mechanics of it to keep it maintained properly). The Dodge was nice to drive regularly..... The Auto couldn't make up its mind what gears it wanted to be in while towing on the highway (hunted for gears). The 4WD light came on often and they replaced about 2 things before they discovered it was something deep inside the dash (loose wire).

If I was gonna do it again.... I'd probably look at the Chevy's and Tundras. Cost would be a huge 'swaying' factor.

I don't know if I can suggest this without vomiting. You should purchase a Chevy Avalanche. I hate that I thought it would be cool to check out the price of those for kicks and giggles. I thought they just gave them away because they weren't very aesthetically pleasing. Anyway they start at 35k.

    Yeah.
Definitely a Tundra SR5 double cab (not the huge Crew Max), 5.7 4x4.

I was wary about the Dodge myself but have been extremely pleased. You should have got the 2500, big difference. I haven't had one failure or mechanical issue with my 2004. Even the damn battery lasted almost 7 years. I know, I may be lucky, but from what I read and heard, the older 1500s were lower quality builds and that seems to ring true with what I've seen myself.

Larry I had this 2003.5 Power Stroke.

I really liked the truck. I also owned a 2008 F150, it was just okay. But, neither truck was very reliable. The diesel pulled a trailer of about 8,500 pounds a few times a week after I owned it a few years and did a pretty good job with decent MPG.

So I say Tundra all the way!

I would look into the new Titan with a 5.0 Cummings diesel. I'm not a fan of the newer frontiers, but ..... The titan looks nicer than the tundra, or an F150. My fahter in law has one, its nice and huge inside cause he has the 4 door.

Tundra for reliability alone. If you need bigger (dually) then I'd go F-series. But seriously--Tundra. I made this move three months ago and couldn't be happier.

If you can live with a small "full size" I'd go first gen Tundra

or F series with the 7.3 for full full size.

Pretty sweet truck IMO also. My father in laws 05 DC 1ton cummins has over 300,000 miles on it. Pulls a 40ft flat bed and a 32ft camper. Tansmission was just rebuilt at like 297,000. Some other stuff like blend door actuator and added somekind of secondary fuel pump system.

I think you already made your choice from your post in the other thread, but...

At this moment, an F-150 King Ranch with the 5.0 would be my pick.
