If you had to order a gen 3 how long did you wait.

Sorry to hear that, did they say why they couldn't get the order in?

 

I'm not 100% sure the exact date I ordered, but it was sometime around 12/16. Supposedly built on 1/21 and is in freight status now, should be here this upcoming week I am told. They gave me the VIN though and I checked it from what I could find around here on the forums, and it seems it was built in TX and the date matches up with the week given in the VIN #. I guess we will see if it works out like I've been lead to believe, but I'm an eternal skeptic ...

 

They said its because of the JBL (FP) Package. All I wanted is a TRD Sport 4X4 SB with JBL. This is my first Toyota so the whole thing makes no sense to me. Feels like Im playing the lottery or something.

 

Ordered on Oct. 15, built on Dec. 17, delivered on Jan. 9.

 

I ordered a TRD Sport DCLB on Oct 27th and they delivered to dealership on Jan. 8th. Was told when I picked it up Toyota had added production at a 2nd plant to meet demand.

 

Ordered 10/14 received 12/8, 56 days. Dealer asked for deposit, $1000 but they just put my check in their folder did not cash. A little odd I thought. Anyone else have that?

 

Ordered sr5 4wd dbl cab long bed v6 trl pkg 1-11-16. truck to be built 2-26 , delivery about end of March.

 

Mailed the deposit on 1/22/2016 (snail mail), delivered on 2/9/2016, picked up on 2/11/2016 as my salesman's day off is Wednesday and I did not want to make him come in on his day off. DCSB OR MT in blue.

 

47 days. Picked up February 9th.

About 14 weeks for my DCLB V6 4x4 Sport.

 

When I got my other car, I put a downpayment of 10k, and they did not cash the check for 2 months.. lol.

I must ask as a noob to the car ordering thing... What should I expect?? So far I'm gathering the process is something like:
1. Tell dealer to put an order in and give them a deposit
2. The dealer files an order, and at some date in the future, the factory accepts it. The dealer notifies me
3. VIN is allocated for the ordered truck, build date is set by factory. Dealer notifies me

Is that accurate?

 

Ordered a DCSB TRDOR MGM back in November. Change order was accepted (after a couple of failed attempts) on Dec. 14. Dealer originally told me it would be around the end of January or beginning of February but I talked to him last week and they still don't show an arrival date in their system. He told me nothing has changed since the change order was accepted.

 

Anyone know build date to delivery? I've got a 3/21 build date, but am hoping to have the truck before 4/4 because that's when the new grad rebate expires!

 

That's how it went for me.

 

Ordered October 7th, delivered on January 22nd. Was told the wait was due to the want for a 6' bed. Did not mind the wait, got what I wanted.

 

Got mine in a month and a half but some rules were broken and I got it waaaaaaaay faster and cheaper than normal. And no compromises with the spec or color. I'm a lucky boy!

Starting to think the black interior may be even rarer than the manual?

Glad I waited for what I wanted vs what was available on the lot(s).
