That's why mine comes with 17 rounds, just to be sure...

9MM, allows for volume of fire, that compared with accuracy takes the day.

I have a .45 with the high capacity magazine. Holds 13. If you need more then that, you don't deserve the gun :D

ding ding ding! The sound of a round chambering with a pump shotgun is more than enough to make most idiots that enter a home illegally to think twice.

    Bingo.

Ask a cop what their "hit rate" is in a shooting. It's under 40%.
How many times do you hear out of Los Angeles "47 shots were fired, the suspect is hospitalized and is expected to make a full recovery"

40% hit rate... that means that your 5-shot .357 might get you 2 hits.
A 1911 might get you 3, 4 if you're better than the guys that do it for a living.

That's because it's a cop. Police officers are some of the worst shots in the industry.

We can "what if" this all day. Fact is, if they want to kill you, you better be prepared to kill them. Having the ammo to practice and be proficient with a 9mm is more important than having a fancy .45 that you can't afford to go and shoot. Being prepared physically and mentally is more important than how many rounds you can hold.

And that's one of the worst tactical moves you can make.

    Quit watching movies.

XD tactical 45, get the conversion 9mm barrel later down the road. Picked up a .40 xd service, planing to get the 9mm barrel later in the year. Get in some cheap target shooting with the 9 and be happy you have a .45

Tactical? You don't turn into SWAT when somebody enters your home. If you are somebody like me that has kids, then my number one priority is the safety of my family. Shout, show, shove, shoot. If I have to, depending on the situation, I will bypass one of those. The action on a shotgun is a pretty damn good deterrent.

I have done more tactical training and shot more weapons than you can ever imagine.

45 has always been my fav. I even got our QRF (quick reaction force) unit to get some more 45's. Personal civillian carry, 9mm is fine. Try the new Ruger LCP.

By the way, here in Texas, we shoot em THROUGH the door if they're trying to breach the home.

I agree with this, some not all police are horrible shots. Add in stress and they might as well yell jihad and just shoot from the hip.

No you haven't. Giving away your position is stupid, and one of the first things you're taught even at "Bubba Joe's We gone shoot some 'cans academy"

Anyone that's teaching you to enter a defensive situation with an unloaded gun is quite possibly one of the dumbest individuals in the industry.

Heh, yea, SOME cops. I was being very general. Cops always assume they will rise to the occasion because they carry that thing all day, and the 50 rounds a year they shoot very slowly at a non moving target is going to magically make them into Massad Ayoob LOL
