This ..pragmatism is going to be key moving forward . Unfortunately for us we aren’t in the position to use leverage , we signed the papers.

Did you negotiate any? In my experience the first trade value they spit out is always wayyy low.

I didn’t negotiates any. Dealership told me straight up that due to the vibration issues it would be a low value. I walked out. I have learned to accept the vibration issues, sort of. Until I saw this thread. I have lurked on TW for a Long time but couldn’t hold back any longer.
I haven’t taken my Tacoma anywhere else to trade in. Because I would disclose the problems with my truck. I’m honest. And I don’t want the frustration of more low ball values. For now, I drive it and a try to be grateful that I have a new truck to have issues with.
There are millions of people today in search of food and clean drinking water and here I am not having peace that my new truck vibrates. These kind of thoughts, keep my thoughts in check.
This doesn’t give Toyota a pass for their horrible customer service/warranty honor.

That seems to be contradictory of them ....one side of mouth says there is no problem...yet there is a problem when you go to trade. Communicate in email from now on and get that shit on record. A lemon lawyer would probably get a chubby if he caught wind of that, provided you meet your states requirements first of course.

It is contradictory of them. My frustration level went way up when the used vehicle manager told me that. I walked out more because I didn’t want to blow up at him/Toyota. I wanted to walk over to the service dept. and tell them about the low offer and they should fix it but that would have went no where but frustration for all. I told the Toyota corporate customer service agent this info and he said the dealership was probably trying to take advantage of my situation. But he also said case closed. I could and still might, go get offers on my truck from other dealers including Carmax. Then lemon law it under loss of value. Don’t know much about lemon law. Also, not sure I want to go through with that over vibrations. I’m still gathering info. In the meantime maybe there will be a fix for this. I love my Tacoma other than the vibration issues. Don’t have much love for Toyota Corp.

I had a 2007 that shook so bad from 30 to 40 mph that I ended up trading it for a 2019. It started about 200,000 miles and I think was the torque convertor. Going to be really disappointed if the 2019 starts doing it within a 1,000 miles on it.

Yes indeed. Too many jerks on here. If everyone settles for Toyota's bull crap, Toyota isn't going to do a thing. And that's what's happened.

Well being a pushover definitely ain't gonna help either. And guess what, dealerships aren't going to accept a trade knowing the truck has a problem EVEN if Toyota says "its normal." Make sense of that if you will. It proves that its not "normal." Ya'll mistake attitude with not being a push over. I haven't uttered a cuss word (because I don't normally cuss) and I haven't yelled at anyone. But I've been firm with myself. Toyota may win the battle, but they'll lose business in the long run if they keep allowing themselves to get away with stuff they shouldn't get away with. Imagine you buy a camera like I do often and its 6,000 dollars. Midway through using it everytime, the camera goes nuts for a several seconds. When you call Canon, do you imagine them saying "oh that normal for this 6,000 camera, and we don't know how to fix the problem. You gonna accept that? You'd be a fool to do so...

If I’m getting this straight, brand new Tacomas have vibration issues from the factory the dealerships are unwilling/unable to fix?

    Thanks.

I’ve owned 2 2nd Gens - both have a low tolerance for vibration issues. In all cases though, it turned out to be tires and balancing.

Good luck to all dealing with this issue - especially if it’s under warranty. Nothing’s worse than shelling out thousands only to have an issue that’ll drive you out of the vehicle.

sounds pretty absurd when you say it, right? It baffled me when a case manager told me there's nothing they can do, it's normal.

You're being entitled and dickish. No one wants to help those kinds of people, plain and simple. Good luck on taking on the world. You'll need it.

Lol you guys are making me think it’s not worth it to even go back since they turned my brakes already, since most of you have filed claims and had multiple trips probe unsuccessful.

If it didn’t vibrate before the 100 miles then something can be fixed , and I love the truck to much to be deterred this easily.

    Baffled is a nice reaction.
I don’t think I could respond that way. I’d be pissed.

    Good Luck.

I know exactly what type of advertisement you were going for, but, um, that not gonna help get your dealer to do anything. Your dealer sucks, most do, open a case with toyota.

Where are you located? How many days has the truck been in the shop for the same issue? How far is the next closest dealer to you?

If this is in Mississippi as I recall, thank your lucky stars. The MS lemon law has a shorter period for correction than most states.

    Contact a lawyer.
Contact the states attorney general office.
    Start doing everything in writing.

The dealer DOES NOT have the final say.
