It's a bosche pump to begin with anyway. Amazon has them $100.

This is not good advice. These 1GR engines are no where near as tolerable to IAT temp induced knock, as other past Toyota iron block engines. Lest you take care to stay out of boost while driving with the pump not working.

"Has intercooler. Refuses to use it. Wonders why ring lands broke." No sense in that.

Thats one i ordered based on the number found on the side of a "toyota part number" picture

Are you stating for a fact that you have used this part# personally and can vouch for it working?

That's the same on my TRD kit came with. It's the same as Rousch uses for their kits on Ford. Also, same as I used on an kit(that came in ford boxes?) for the Audi 4.2V8.

Also for an added peace of mind, I looked up the part on Amazon and looked at the reviews. There is one of a guy that put one on his second gen with a s/c. He said it works great.

Sub. I haven't installed my S/C yet, but this is definitely good to know. Also interested if there is some sort of viable upgrade.

Thank you OP. I check my pump and found fluid level was low. Also pump would at times make "funny" noise and coolant would flow slower. I plan to order new pump.

Its normal Toyota engine coolant in the reservoir right?

    What advice? Telling not overreact?

There is no sense to circulate water if outside temperature is -23°C (-10°F) like this day here. Intake temp is minus something too, even with low boost. Short term 7 PSI won't warm inlet air almost at all, especially when you have the intercooler core (full of cold water) which act as a buffer there.

Inlet charge-air heating is not a big deal at these low boost pressures (5-7 PSI). Totally different situation if you double that, then there is need for a good intercooler.

Just calm down guys, there is no need to loose your nightsleep if your IC pump is not working.

Not sure what you would consider an "upgrade"? A higher flowing pump may not be any better, it could possibly flow so fast the coolant never has time to "cool" when passing through intercooler? If it's good enough for for Rousch, it's good enough for me. The Turd charger is actually a size smaller Eaton than the Rousch kit uses.

I think so too, but the charge-air heats the same way, even constant 7 PSI will not heat it much. It's about the pressure when an intercooler start to make difference, 3-5 PSI you don't need it because that amount of boost not heat the charge-air almost at all.

It's easy to test, drive without the pump while and touch the SC, is it warm or not.

Btw. I like intercoolers, I have build one self engineered water-to-air intercooler to my ex-Land Cruiser, tried, failed, tested, succeed and learned something too.

70ºF IAT then charged, will not equate to the -10ºF IAT + charge. Not to mention 100+ IAT climates.

You can get away with it. As a blanket statement, it is not good advice though. That is my point.
