This is more of a public anouncement than anything else really, & I don't know if this has even been brought up before , anyway as some of you know my mom passed away this last Sept. & unfortunantely she did so without a will in force which in Ca. means that ALL personal property/houses/land/financial entities & any outstanding debts go into what is known as "Probate" & I'm not even going to go down that laundry list of bullshit that I'm going thru now, the point of this thread is to urge everyone to sit down with your parents/significant others & do a legal & binding living will BEFORE they pass on...

No one wants to deal with the passing of loved ones with matters of real estate/finances & whats to become of these things when the time comes, take a couple hours out of your life , get it done, put it away (will) & dont give it another thought until it's needed, wish we would've done this as my probate attorney;s fees are $12,000 to date, & our case is an easy one with all parties involved are in agreement (sister, brother & myself are all on same page) I'd hate to see how a more complex case with agreement issues between siblings would go...

    That is all.....;)

Probate is such a huge pain in the ass

My grandmother passed away last June, she had a will and 2 sons who were in agreement with everything, including all liquidation of assets and splitting it all 50/50

It took till last week to get it all settled thru probate
