    Completely unsolicited praise.

I recently bought the Rago CB antenna mount and it is just about perfect. I have a NMO mount on my front fender for GMRS but I wanted a CB and this is the only mount worth using. A bit expensive but it is stainless and that matters as you need to grind away plenty of the coating to ensure a good ground. But it does it's job perfectly. No issues with it hanging onto my 5' Skipshooter.

And FWIW I am running a President Bill II FCC and it's a hell of a little radio especially with a modest boot.

Eh, DIY or have a buddy make some

Like bed stiffeners, $3 of steel for over $100 is nuts

You just reminded me of those stiffeners I made ya

But really that steel was free, but if I had bought it I think it would've cost me $20 bucks and I could've made 2 or 3 sets.

I guess it depends on what your time is worth. And for me to pay $65 for 'good to go' I am happy.

So you can buy plate stainless, cut it, weld it, and have it powder coated for how much? $3 of steel my ass.

    Your mount is stainless?

My Land Cruiser came with a Rago Fab mount and it's mild steel.

So, my pricing assumed mild steel...stainless would of course cost more!

But 6 welds taking 10 seconds total, add another 30-45 seconds of grinding (making one side flat) and you've got bed stiffeners!

No I can't include powder coat in that cost since I had it done free but for most things I just use left over spray paint; I have maybe 6 cans on my shelf?

But there is your personal time (or a friend's) and that's definitely worth a beer, or red bull or two.

"Oh silly you! You bought a nice product but I can make it CHEAP!!!"

    Really?

I should certainly regret posting that someone makes a really nice CB antenna mount 'cus someone has plenty of spare time.

    WTF.

No need to get bent out of shape

For some, yes it's worth buying just like it was for you. You stated an opinion, about how great it is as surely you see the value.

I merely expressed my own opinion, one that differs from your own.

Anyone that can spend a few minutes to make that mount (with the tools and know how) won't see the value you do, that's it.

You see an awesome bolt-on solution for an antenna mount; I see a few dollars of steel that's being sold at a ridiculous price.

Oh eat a dick. Don't pretend that you were not saying it was stupid to pay someone to manufacturer it.

I have owned machine shops and I am a welder. Your time is obviously worth nothing.

I needed the laugh, really, thanks!

    Seriously though, it's the internet.

Three different people can read a post, and each person interpret it their own way.

Don't be an internet tough guy, there's too many of those.

We shared differing opinions on stuff, that's it.

But getting childish 'my time is worth more..' or 'fuck off' that's downright hilarious and you're a fool.

Let's allow others to read this thread and decide if Rago Fab is good for them, another vendor, or just DIY.

    LOL.

I like how you realized the point in your last sentence.

Nobody asked you dicks if you could make it. I have sold my old businesses and don't have space to fab stuff. So I buy it. Like most people.

Sorry that I shared that Rago makes a nice product!!! Sheesh.

So again: Rago makes a nice mount. For some reason people are like "oh, I can make that". Duh. Meanwhile some people spend their time not worrying if they can make a simple mount.
