I was reading some posts and several people say the in snow and rain when they slammed on the brakes, when ABS is activated the ABS dash light comes on? I have slammed on the brakes and gone into a skid in, snow, rain, mud, sand, you name it over the last 10 years and the only 2 times ABS light ever came on was when a wheel sensor failed and when spiral cable failed?

I don't remember my ABS light coming on when I was setting my trailer brake level with a load of firewood on a dirt road. ABS came on, but not the light.

What happens If you happen to need to slam on your brakes, usually the first thing happens is you say
Ahhh shit, hold on! You never get a chance to look for a little light.

Ok, cool, just wondering. If your playing in mud or sand or whatever in a wide open space it's not really an 'emergency' to hit the brakes and start skidding. I never have seen it come on?

Main reason I'm asking, is because if it's supposed to I want to have it checked out to see if there is a problem.

    Thanks for the reply bro!

I think it flashes from the couple time I've seen it, and only while it is active

On my 2006 it does not come on. Did it today because someone 2 cars up was turning but the truck in between us didn't hit brakes til last second. My abs light turns on when I turn on my 'rear locker' (abs delete mod) so I know the light works.

Hmmmm... Thanks for the info bro, maybe on ours (2006) the light doesn't come on when ABS activated.

    Much appreciated!

I was probably thinking about the locker light. Or possibly traction control or something. Roasting them tires with the super charger

I can power break and lay 2 black marks all the way down the street once I let off, no lights come on.

SUPERCHARGER..... SWEET!!!!!!! Wish I was that lucky! When I bought mine they said they will be available any day now and they could do the install.... I said, let me know ASAP! Wasn't until 2-3 years later that the TRD SUPERCHARGER was available and I got the call and by then I couldn't afford it :(

When the ABS light is on, it means the ABS system is NOT working properly. Your brakes will work, just not the ABS function. The light does not come on to indicate the system is working or when the system is working. You'll know the ABS is working when you feel it in the pedal.

A deer ran out in front of me yesterday and I locked them up and ABS kicked in, didn't notice any light on.

The light stays off when the ABS activates and modulates brake pressure. A fault with the system, or engaging the locker of TRD OR models will light it up as ABS is disabled while the locker is engaged.
