3 of us took our doublecabs to the Rubicon Trail in September. If you're a good driver and you're cautious, you can complete the trail without any carnage. 2 of us had 33s and I had 35s. We all had ARB lockers up front to eliminate the weak stock spider gears. Another reason we didn't break is because we're experienced drivers and we're patient.

x1000. You are guaranteed to destroy your rocker panels without sliders. If you can't afford sliders, you can't afford to run the Rubicon. That's the very 1st mod you should make for that trail.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. So it took two full days on the trail to compete? Would you go slower/faster if you were to do it again?

Yes, we completed it in two days. We had plans to visit Yosemite afterwards, so we were going at a medium pace. Unfortunately, Yosemite was on fire and closed that week, so we just ended up putting around Lake Tahoe.

I have ADHD, so I get kinda bored sitting in the same place for a while. That being said, there are so many amazing places to explore there if you don't mind some hikes. I'm more into backpacking than rock crawling, and I think it'd be fun to plan a backpacking trip through there someday to see all the cool stuff.

My wife walked the entire trail, and she ended up having to wait up for us at times.

For me, it was the perfect duration, but I could see how others would want to stretch it into 4 or 5 days.

I saw the blurb about your trip in the Low Range newsletter. Nice to see the video too!

That trail is on my list of must-do trails. Thanks for sharing.
