Rubicon isn’t really any easier one way or the other, I ran it in my LT Tacoma both ways, one way on 35s, one way on 37s with lower gears. Going up big sluice is the only difficult spot that required winching.

These “requirement” are a nice thing to aim for but aren’t really requirements. It can be done with much less with relative ease.

I’m confused how guys are bending and wrecking stuff in the rubicon in these fixed up Tacoma’s. It’s not as bad as they say. Stumpyy04 and I ran it from Cadillac to loon in 11 hours without any breakage.

Just go do it if you want to.

Here’s the bottom of big sluice heading up(one of the best parts)

Another random obstacle near buck I think

I would recommend having a rear locker, 35s, low enough gears to give you lots of slow control, armor to cover all the goods, front and rear bumpers and a front winch. And know how to drive. The first time I went through I did in on 35s, full length bed on a DCLB. Had no trouble. didn’t wreck the body, didn’t smash any windows or break any parts.

For spares you’ll want to have a cv or two, tie rods, fluids, ujoints, extra nuts and bolts and all the little things that may help you out(piece of chain, straps and bungees, hose clamps, pieces of heater hose). Along with the tools to change anything that may break.

Better to bend a tie rod than destroy a rack. Use factory tie rods and keep a cheap easily replaceable part the weak link bro
