This is a local Facebook group. They're all a part of a nonprofit trail cleanup and off-road recovery organization.

Gotcha, stories like this is why I’m leery to wheel with people I don’t really know. I like my core group of 3-4 and that’s it. This sounds like a shit show lol

    So, for perspective.

It took us 2 days off wheeling to get to the halfway mark. That's the easy side.

It took me 3 hours to get from halfway to trailhead.

It wasn't all bad. We broke away a handful of times and had fun on obstacles. They're not all bad people. Just completely inexperienced and not ready for a trail like the Rubicon.

A couple of them mentioned Fordyce after some upgrades. That place will eat them alive.

Man you have to live a little, those are the fun runs!! That is as long as your shit doesnt break and you have to rely on the dumbasses to help you fix it.

The shit talking about the temporary weld is pretty shity though.

Yeah, I will say this, it was the best father's day I've ever had. Yes we were bored to death watching n00bs get out every 30 feet to get a spotter or pick their line, but that's learning.

I bonded with my 12 year old daughter a lot this trip. We talked a lot about what to do, she helped me spot without getting out, and we cracked jokes about everything the entire two days. So I can't bitch much about the weekend.

Yes, it was retarded, but I love the chaos as long as I'm not directly involved.

The weld thing pissed me off, but that was after the trip. He was looking for someone other than himself to blame. I welded it for him on a day I was working on my front links and told him very bluntly, "This all needs to be ripped out, plated, and redone." I try to help that dude out, he got his tires from me for damn near free.

But, people do and say weird shit when they're stressed. So I can't get too mad. I mean, it's not like I've lost anything over it.

I take it you've seen the drama unfold in real time?

I just deleted Facebook a month ago, but we had setup this trip beforehand. There is more drama in local 4x4 groups than in any reality show I've ever seen. These folks sit back on their keyboards and act like they'll never interact with anyone in real life. Then that time comes and everyone is all awkward and passive. It's hilarious to people watch at meets and runs, you can tell most are just people looking for a way to fit in. It's cute.
