Cool, I couldn't remember if the single cabs had it or not. If there's one thing I've noticed, it's that I can plan a ton, but nothing seems to adhere to my preplanning.

All this chit chat has me wanting to go home and go ham again. DAMN DAYJOB!

I don't have a 4link rear, for now, but I say keep that carrier bearing, its keeps the driveline tucked up and out of the way. Jess at high angle driveline talked me out of single piece unit and that was one of his reasons.

That makes sense. I was initially concerned about the angle, since the plan was to bring the rear in a touch.

Also, I am hoping like hell I got that front axle far enough forward to avoid the hell that looks like your tubbing adventure. lol

Yea that was a major F up, If I want to go bigger than 37s (unlikely) I would have to basically redo my front end. That was also self induced trying to smash a fender in far enough with a sledge hammer 5 days before a wheeling trip, instead of just cutting sheet metal right off the bat.

My advice, which I didn't do, is measure and mock up anytime you finish up a major section. Meaning getting ready to final weld the link mounts, measure and mock up a tire. Building the steering box mount: mock up and messure etc I would have caught it if I would have done that along the way. Lesson learned!! The good part about links is you can push everything further forward if you were a bit off.

Sad face, I ordered the wrong pickup tube. I originally ordered from Off Road Solutions, dealt with Mike, dude is awesome. If you need stuff for SAS, they're rad. So I'm gonna swap out the oil tube with the rear one and be good to go.

Also, finished up the main part of the truss for the front, finished up the mechanical shit on the axle. Assembled the crossmember and then cleaned my pig sty.

Here's how it looks right now. Whew.

So, no one posts the less glamorous parts of their projects. I was on the grind for about 2 hours today... Maybe more.

If you're reading this and thinking about doing anything, just know that the majority of your time will be spent hacking, flap disking, and measuring. For every one picture of something awesome is usually 3 hours of prep, design, marking, and cleaning.

    Fuck I'm tired.

Yea that shit took FOREVER! it took me a full weekend (2 16hr days) to build my steering box mount that's 5parts LOL!!

What takes even longer is when the major fab work is over and you have the mile long list of little crap and tweaking to do.

Well said, bolting shit on is walk in the park compared to building your own parts. Nice work!

Not a whole bunch. Got the Sterling shafts pulled, gear install this upcoming weekend.

Cut out factory crossmember, WFO checked for clearance. Feels like cheating to use a prefabbed part, but I don't feel like messing with this section too much... Plus the crossmember has link mounts built in.

Haha, cheating, I feel you but you saved yourself a ton of time. This guy took me probably 20 hours all said and done.

That was the exact idea I had, awesome! I got a good deal for KOTH sale so I can't bitch too much.

One thing I noticed is how bad I suck at overhead welding. I glanced over and saw my work (first learning MIG) and thought, "WTF is this shit?!"

    That shit was me.
