So, question for all you guys who've been through all this wonton swap mess...

    Brakes.

I originally cut the brake lines under the cab, going to reflare and route back. However, should I do a single rear line into a proportioning valve then T it at the axle and plug the other rear line?
I can imagine a new master/booster will be needed at some point, but in theory, this should work yeah?

    Also, did some steering shit.

Okay, round 3 with this god forsaken main hoop.
Bent up another18' stick of 1.5" Dom. My OCD has me in knots but getting there. Need to bend it forward a touch and level out the feet, but I think the bends contour well enough. Fuck Toyota for the shape of this cab.

That’s the best one yet! Looks pretty good to me, like you said a touch of forward bend and i think it’s pretty spot on.

No, but I'll pull this side forward a touch. Other side has a touch larger gap. ~3/4".

Once base is burnt in, rachet straps and triangulation will have that and the other side even up.

I figured it like this, the main hoop is where everything attaches to.

Just like anything in life (learning mathematics comes to mind) if you have a solid foundation, everything else has the tendency to just fall into place with less effort.

But I appreciate that comment. I'll gladly bend a few tubes incorrectly to finally get one right rather than go with something shitty then have to work harder later to make everything work. Plus, there's parts from the already bent tubes that I can use for gussets and triangulation.

    It's the small victories sometimes...

Got some help from my 12 year old.

Now that the difficult bends are done... It's time to start mounting shit.

Rear is coming out really nicely! Definitely a lot of trial and error there but it paid off for sure!

Fuckin hell, it was one of the days to find all the things that need capping or some sledge adjustments. I was concerned about rubbing on my slider ends in the front... Not anymore.

    • Bent those in and welded solid.
    • Capped the rear slider ends.
    • Capped the rear link mount towers.
    • Trimmed the rear frame for lower link clearance.
    • Capped that fucker too.
    • Got a crossmember burnt in
    • Cleaned up some welds from my first few weeks
    • Bent up tube for lower bed cage

I would kill for a jd² right now. This little bender works out to one degree per pump of the little 8 ton bottle jack, but the 7 inch bend radius makes shit way hard to measure. We'll see how well I did tomorrow when I cut.

Felt like I'd be moving faster than I did. I got texts all day for invites to Moonrocks. Sigh...

Ahh definitely a step up, even cost-wise... I wish those things weren’t so damn expensive.

Its always weird when you hit those fabrication time warps. You spend 2 16hr days in the garage on a weekend and get like 2 things built/bent, then you spend 2hrs in the garage after work one tuesday night and knock out the entire rear suspension or something like that.

Makes me never want to build another truck again LOL!! looking good man!
