My 2007 4x4 2.7l ex SR5 has givin me fits lately
My IG1 10a fuse has been blowing and I think I've nailed it down to when I put my truck in reverse. All those things are connected to the IG1 fuse... Speedo, turn signals, air bag light, a/c, and reverse lights.

Dealer said they would have to replace my wiring harness and return my truck to factory.
I've got aftermarket lights, keyless entry/alarm, pioneer stereo, and they wanna return it to stock.

Anyone have a suggestion for me. I bought the truck last year and have not had any issues. Have no idea what the P.O. did when all the after .market stuff was added.

First try replacing the rev light bulbs. The next thing I’d do is pull all the fuses for that alarm.

The first and most suspect item would be the Trailer Towing circuit in my opinion. Specifically the backup lamp circuit coming from the Park Neutral Safety Switch ( Automatic ) or the Backup Lamp Switch ( manual ).

Inspect the Tow Harness and connector for damage and corrosion.

See this schematic, page 2 from the top of the PDF:

    https://www.customtacos.com/tech.ol...toyewd/06toypdf/ewd/2006/tacoma/h/em01d40.pdf

The red wire with a white stripe goes to the 7 pin trailer harness and at connector BE1 it is turned to Yellow Wire.

Was an aftermarket reverse cam added with the stereo? If so, that's probably tied into the reverse lights.

I found a rev light bulb not plugged in all the way. Kinda half in half out. (Led bulb). I think it was my culpret. Will follow up with any news.

Thank everyone for all your input. It's nice when you go at something with direction.

OP hasn't been online since 2019, I doubt they are coming back.

In any case your truck is a 3rd gen (2022 according to your profile), you would get more relevant information creating a thread in the 3rd gen section (16-23), this is the 2nd gen (05-15) section.

Thank you but I have six vehicles. One is a 3rd gen and another is a 2nd. The 2nd gen is the one that I’ve been having the problem with.

I did trace at least part of the problem to the reverse circuit. Cleaned up the connections at the reverse lights, added a bunch of dielectric grease, and replaced the bulbs. So far so good.
