Awe man it's close. My only worry with those tube brackets is supporting to the sides of the center hole, but it could work.

What if I used 2 brackets per light? It looks like it has 3 mounting options.

    @Nate87 and @Sje1124

I discovered something very interesting this weekend. After adjusting the Hypertech for gears and tires, I went on a trip to visit the in-laws (about a 3hr drive on 5 each way). I noticed it took a greater effort than normal to go 60, and anything after 60 the whole truck started to shake pretty bad, so I kept it at 55 and I was at speed with traffic, but something didn't feel right.

When I got to my in-laws I checked to make sure everything was snug and it all checked out. I calculated everything over and over again and here's what I found.

First I am using 265/75r16 for the stock size since with the factory 70's my speedo was off. After putting the 75's the speedo was dead nuts. First calculating for tires my multiplier was 1.094, which means it's almost 10% higher than stock. OK, that checked out perfect for tires, but now I have gears.

So, I calculate for tires and gears which gives me a multiplier of 0.894 almost 9% lower than stock. I kept scratching my head though because that's what felt off.

I did some research into the our trucks and I found out that gears do not affect the speedo, only tires. This has something to do with the speed sensors being at the hubs. So I only calculated for tires and not gears, sure enough everything felt normal and it didn't feel like I was pushing the truck to just go 60. I then used Gaia GPS to test my speed and everything matched up!

So long story short... @Nate87 remember when you told me everything was off about 10% even though you had tires and gears? Well it's because the gears have no effect on the speedo and as long as you have 35's the speedo will be off by 10%.

And @Sje1124, the 4.56 felt great and once everything was back to normal I was getting about 2,300rpm's at 70. It's not bad for commuting and the greater power is nice, so I don't think 4.88's will be that bad now! I actually kind of think I would have liked them better, but that's just me guessing. Either way, with 35's and 4.56 or 4.88 the speedo will be off about 10%

Last weekend heading to the Ozarks I was averaging about 65 to 68 mph. When I pulled up my Gaia GPS it said I was going about 6 to 7 mph faster than what my speedo said. But that's also with stock gears.

@Sje1124 Was that with 35's and was 65 on the speedo? If so then Gaia was correct. 65 + 10% = 71.5 (6.5 more).

@IGGY yeah that was with the 35s. So how do you calculate gas mileage?

I use Fuelly, but I also have the Hypertech speedometer adjuster which makes my dash accurate.

Ahh ok, I tried using Fuelly but need to figure out to get the accurate miles due to the larger tires. For some reason I was told by someone to multiply my trip miles by 1.07 and that's my actual mileage for the tank.....can you confirm that's how to do it?

I would use 1.094, that's what the Hypertech is using to correct the dash.

Ok and is that with the 265/70/16 stock tires or the 265/75/16 tires?

265/75/16, since that's what gave me an accurate speedo from the get go. Right now my speedo is dead on with 35's.

Ok, yeah I didn't even check if mine was correct when I bought my truck.

Switched back to OME 885's. The 886's gave me too much lift and there was noticeable wear on the CV boots.

I rode around with the stock TRD suspension for a day looking like a pavement sniffer.

How's the ride with the 885's and arb bumper?

@Acerwin it runs much nicer. I don't have a winch or skids so it's not enough weight to get the 886 to settle. The height it a little less than what I would like, but the CVs are good, and that's a headache id rather avoid.

Ok thanks I'm thinking of going with the arb bumper myself so I guess I need the 886's since I'm adding a winch also.

I'm getting closer to finishing my dual battery setup. I've built this tray to hold the second battery, battery controller/charger and fuse/relay box. I'm relocating my existing relay box over to this side and building something else on the other.

So far so good! Ignore the big weld nuts, those are being redone.
