Looks awesome, just wish I could find another framing method similar to this at a lower cost. Just mapped out my drawer system on 8020 and it will be close to $400 just for the framing. Let the internet digging begin

So I finished the cabinet and had it out for a test run on a trip. It's a love hate thing at this point. I love the direction but I hate my execution. My initial intent was to have the main cabinet open up inside so I can access everything with the hopes of being fully independent indoors in bad weather. The problem with that is I can't have anything on top of the plat form to open the door and move things around. Here are pics of how everything is laid out for camp, I add everything else like chars and stuff after.

    IMG_0579.jpg

    Heres the view from inside.
    IMG_0580.jpg

So now my thought is going with a drawer system. This concept peaked my interest since I'm married to the Wolf Packs. https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.c...r-single-height-double-width-1252mm-long.html

After seeing how much work it will be to make them, I decided that I'm going to buy instead of build. I got my wife into going to trips so I want to enjoy the weekends as much as I can. I go ahold of Blueline Expedition Outfitters since they do consulting and we are working on a solution for the bed.

Here's what we are looking at doing.
-Two drawer system forward of the aluminum compressor box. Drawers can be asymmetrical, but one has to hold at least 3 Wolf Packs.
-The entire top of the drawer system to be flat to maximize storage and double as a second sleeping area.
-The dead space next to the compressor box will hold a water tank and pump. If there is no off the self solution I will do that portion myself.

We'll see how it turns out!

Man that's a bummer, looks great but I can see how that would impede on your use of it. Well at least now you have a drop in cabinet at home :D

Haha! It ended up getting shortened and passed on to @Moogle. Hopefully he can get some better use out of it. I'm curious to see what he comes up with.

I started disassembling it, going to work on making it fit next to the slide. But my ideas for my bed layout are coming along.

Keeping busy until the drawer option arrives, I started to figuring out my water setup. I had all these components already so I put something together.

This LCI can has served me well, I already had the spout tapped for a valve, but I took it a step further and attached a pump to my Zodi water heater.

Adding an outlet from the tank had a small hiccup since the 3/8NPT to 1/2NPT adapter wasn't threaded all the way through. I had to turn down the barb fitting and tig weld it before assembly.

    Turning it down.
    IMG_0618.jpg

    Test fit before TIG
    IMG_0619.jpg

Welded. I'm just learning how to tig weld so it looks crappy. Getting tips from grandmaster @Bentrodder on turning down the heat and tapering off at the end to avoid assholes.
    IMG_0631.jpg

Threw it back on the lathe to clean up the threads where I welded too far.
    IMG_0641.jpg

The tank tap all finished up!
    IMG_0642.jpg

And a quick video of the full system.
    https://youtu.be/GkXsdcvtABc

Things that will change are some of the orientation of the male/female fitting. Right now I can't bypass the heater if I didn't want hot water; replace the hoses since they can't take the pressure from the pump to shut it off when the system is closed.

The next step from here is to duplicate the system behind the drawers!

They aren't the best pumps, but they are cheap!

I'm going sure flow on the big system with a 3.0gpm pump and a small sediment catch is a must on the intake side.

Are you going with OBW or keeping the portable setup?

Here was my old setup from about 3 years ago in the Flippac. Valved Colder food grade fittings. I'm going to use the same system in the new camper and make multiple stems so I can just switch between the (3) 4 gallon water jugs. There is a check valve st the bottom of the stem to prevent siphoning when the pump is shut off. The Shurflo 1gpm pump is self priming, but it lasts longer if the water stays in the system. It automatically presurizes the system to 30 psi.
I added a male fitting to the end of the Zodi input hose so I could just plug it into the rear valved panel-mount fitting when we needed hot water. Also put a sediment filter between the tank and the pump.

I wanted the 1 gpm pump so my family wouldn't blow through our water supply when taking showers.

I also plan to add an auxiliary input so we can draw from a folding bucket when camped near water. Long showers without touching the water supply. Or add a secondary pump for that application to keep the main system and pump free of giardia and other sea monkeys.

    That's a pretty sweet setup!

I actually got the idea from you after we talked! I think what I'm going to do is have a dedicated on board system with like 15gal of potable water, and then a portable for field water. I've seen the water purification systems so you can pump field water have clean and ready to go, but I don camp enough to justify a $750 system.

Where did you get the 1/2" fittings? I'm using the same quick disconnect ones, but opted for 3/8" since the zodi and pump are both 3/8.

I used all three eights inch fittings. Except for The sediment filter which was half inch. And using talk to text, I didn't actually write all that out

@Iggy I've got a box of OBW stuff in the garage, have been lacking on working on it lately because of babies and other projects lol, but I want to say I've got a 3.4 gpm Sureflo pump, all the fittings and hose I need, and then seeing the way @ProForce 's system pulsed and lower pressure (hence the larger pump) I added in an accumulator to compensate. I decided to go with a mobile system that I can just plug in to a cigarette lighter and hit the switch and go, but the box I bought had the wrong dimensions. I need to mount everything to a piece of plywood as close as I possible can and then buy a box that I can fit it all in and cut the plywood to the box shape. Don't get me wrong, Proforce's system is great, but I wanted something a little bigger, so I sourced it all on my own from his idea (props to you Proforce)

Question for you- What heater did you go with? Everything I looked at just seemed to large and bulky. I was hoping to find some sort of compact electric (plug in) system that would at least let me warm up some cold water enough to not be frozen in early morning showers lol. My currect setup is just the Coleman propane water heater and its huge and heavy to lug along every trip.

    This is what I'm running.

    http://zodi.com/hot-showers/hot-tap-with-case

The water pump fits inside of it too along with the cigarette lighter cable to power it all. Originally when I bought it they didn't have the case so it was all in a 5gal bucket with lid. I got the case because it was way more compact the the lid doubles as the propane stand.

It doesn't really give you hot water on demand. It can make water not be fridged, but what I found out what works best is to circulate the water until it's as warm as you need it.

Yeah if you go the air fitting way the stainless ones are the way to go. It's balls and springs in the air fittings that rust. But for the price of the stainless ones, you are better off with the plastic ones made for potable water.

@Overlanerd and I were during the midnight chat oil and he gave me some good ideas.

Not really, I don't have room for a rack over the cab!
