I read about "positive pressure" as a potential solution. ;)

@EatSleepTacos I will eventually build storage/drawers, and then move my bedslide on top of them.

    This is a great idea @Iggy !

My past experience with a flippac was that no matter how much caulking and gaskets I used dust came in pretty bad. I have heard nothing but good about using the Tacoma Bedrug to prevent dust inside truck shells/toppers. Since this design is similar to the flippac I assume there will be dust inside. We'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, I have a Bedrug in my floor under the Habitat. It's great. I got a killer deal on a used one (~$80, plus some free dog hair) but I'd almost paid retail again if I had to. It lets the dust and funk have a place to hide while you're out and about, and it also makes sitting or sleeping on what little floor space I have comfortable.

You're never going to get a perfect seal on these things anyway between the seams on the tailgates. Even the cargo pockets on the site have drainage holes that are open to the air from underneath. At least with a Bedrug you can just hose everything out like a Jeep.

I know it will never be fully sealed, I've had enough experience that the dust will get in from anywhere. The only thing I don't want in is water. The rest is gets dirty even if I'm not on a dusty road from just getting in and out of the camper.

I've read one of the best parts of using a bedrug is that it seals the tailgate area better than most other solutions. Damn Toyota and their fancy composite bed.

Between my BedRug and tailgate seals, both purchased at AutoAnything on a coupon, the amount of dust inside with my canopy has been reduced dramatically. I did go back and had the shell installation company really work on sealing out the elements though. They said that rain was hard and I said life was hard and that they should try harder, it worked.

Interested to see the final product and what the price point would be, I dont have the budget for a flippac or adventure habitat. Subd and patiently following.

I found some distributors and manufacturers of aluminum honeycomb paneling, but they don't respond to individuals it seems.

A used FlipPac is anywhere between $2000 for a broken and moldy one to $4000-5000 for a great condition one. This is going to be more than a used FlipPac.
